Reasons not to give up on the season

I mean, the Chicago game is an omen, thats how things will be in the future. The defense is broken, Eberflus is a terrible coach, and the team is a hospital. I just hope Dak survives this season.

Its been 30 years, statistically, we are already dead, you know this, we know it, Jerry knows this, so yeah copium here is wasaaay to high.

By accusing the rest of us of being negative, he remains the one shining optimist which is the epitome of virtue signaling.......its been going on for a long time here
I think he meant negativity and vitriol

I always laugh when I realize someone has gone through their whole life misusing a word or phrase

For all INTENSIVE PURPOSES, I guess that's a MUTE point though

I prefer to just approach each week as its own season. Fans who are too busy worrying about the big picture can't enjoy the moments.

I watched and enjoyed the tie with Green Bay because of how the offense played without Lamb and two of our starting linemen. That was fun to watch.

The tie bugs those who either think we have a shot at doing something this season because of how good our offense is or think we should be tanking because of how bad our defense is.

However, the season turns out is not something I can determine at this point, so why focus on it? That's not going to change anything.
 You speaketh with forked toungue.

You can’t see the forest because of the trees. You might as well forget about the Cowboys until Jerry is gone if that’s how you feel. IMO, that sucks for an attitude but you can be any kind of fan you want.

Your prerogative to give up and hope they lose. Just not my character DNA.
You gave up on discussing all things Cowboys with this board last October. After all that talk and bluster and calling people who turned out right haters, you tucked your tail and hid rather than continue a dose of truth and admitting others were right. If you are going to call everyone you don't agree with a hater, at least be a man and stick around and take the crow if you are wrong, or is that not your character DNA (rhetorical question at this point really)?

Maybe you need to take a new DNA test?

Really, after that, you are seriously going to say giving up isn't your character, as if we all don't remember searching milk cartons for your name last year?

No problem with you being you. Just not in my character.

Why? Just because I'm enjoying the journey instead of worrying about the destination?

Too many fans get caught up in what each game means for our playoff chances. I used to be one of those. Now, I'm just taking each game as they come.

After the Giants game, there were a lot of fans who were down because we barely beat the lowly Giants in overtime. I thought the game was very enjoyable to watch. I thought the Packers game was enjoyable too even though it ended in a tie.

I've gone from being a fan who was miserable if I thought my team had little chance of making the playoffs to a fan who is just enjoying the moments. I no longer worry about what a tie might do to our playoff chances. It's been a lot better way to watch football IMO.

I understand now what you were saying and actually agree with you 100%. I’m the same. Enjoy the games and see what happens. Win or lose, we still enjoy the journey.

Well, I am a person with high math skills and very good at pattern recognition detection. I see the numbers, our opponents numbers and also how this team behaves, which is extremely inconsistent, not now, but since I started watching the team (2005).

I use probability, statistics, pattern recognition. Even if its never 100% accurate, its close to what has been happening, which includes:

- Offense performance
- Defense performance
- Draft
- Free agency
- Players contracts

How many of those have been heavily affected by Jerry? How many post here do we read about how bad he handles all of that?

Being optimistic about when you have no tools, no money and most of your opponents do, really makes me think two things:

- You have very low pattern recognition skills.
- This thread/post is just you feeling alone and wanting some conversation.

Since I am a math guy, lets do this, ill save this post, until January and will come back about who had better skills predicting how the season went.

Statistics are from the past and not the future and doesn’t portend the future. That’s common sense. That’s what I mean by you can’t see the forest because of the trees (statistics from the past). Every week they put out a new lineup. The players are evolving learning the defense. There will be different players. The other teams are different every week as well. So you can take your statistics class learning and work with the markets. It doesn’t work with human beings playing sports.

You never had a basic stats class, right? Lol… Im sorry, you are just a really bad joke.

I saved the post, see you on January.

Basic and advanced. I know their value as well as their deficiencies. No need for the insults. Statistics show thats childish.

I root hard for them every week even if it seems like they will be outmatched. That’s what being a fan is.

I don’t think that being a fan means you always believe the team is going to be incredible when every indicator says otherwise.

When a “good fan” says “ 10 wins and playoffs”, should they be labeled a hater by a fan who thinks the team wins 14 and makes the Super Bowl?

I say as long as you root for your team every week, you’re a damn good fan.

So much negativity and virtue signaling nestled within an alleged "positive" thread.

Cowboys fans want to see Cowboys games and wins whenever possible. Duh.

Its 100% irrelevant if any fan gives up on the season.....it only matters if the players give up on it like some of them did last season
Yup. Very weak call out post, attacks and insults galore.

This.

I root for them every single (f..) week. But im not always optimistic about the score.

I have 0 expectations when the teams administration and players aren’t just good. This season so far has been the case.
