Reasons not to give up on the season

Don’t listen to all the naysayers here who’ve already given up on the season. A season that isn’t even 25% over. They have one of the best, if not the best, offense in the league. Yes, they also have one of the worst, if not the worst, defenses in the league. The defense has had a different DC the last 3 years. Because of that, they’re struggling to learn this latest defensive scheme. IMO, they’ll steadily start to improve going forward. They’ll also get some help with some players coming back from injury.

It’s a long season and usually the ones standing at the beginning of the playoffs are the ones that have sustained the least amount of injuries. Just look at all the players around the league with season ending injuries to star players.

Hate breeds hate and there’s no better place to prove that than here. Don’t listen to them. Just because some yahoo here says they suck and aren’t going anywhere doesn’t mean they’re right. I don’t give up until the fat lady sings. And she’s not even warming up it’s so early.

Yeah, I only hope they win week to week. If it doesn’t happen it doesn’t happen. Nothing we can do about it. But whining all the time (not you) doesn’t help. It just shows lack of character IMHO.

Everybody fans their own way, so I try not to let it get to me either way. I don't get into the haters and lovers thing because it feeds the negativity. Frankly, I wish you'd lay off that, but I also can't tell you how to fan.

I may try to correct someone if what they are saying isn't factual, but how they feel about the team they follow is their business. I understand when we are posting on a message board we open ourselves up to backlash, but I'd just rather talk about my team and the game than focus on blasting each other over our comments.

So, I'll let that be all I say about that. I'm just glad I've finally figured out how to relax during this 30-year championship game drought. I can't change how the Joneses' approach roster-building (which is the main thing I believe that has held us back), but I can change how I approach following my team.

Nope. You just did it. In the post right above yours. The one you responded to. You did the exact thing I called you out on. You refuse to let him define progress and instead blew him off into the “not as much of a fan as me” like you do to everyone.

You don’t own the fandom. You’re obsessed with gatekeeping and your very specific acceptance of what makes a good fan is restricted to a set of criteria that only you can fill and, since you contradict yourself often, you cant even follow your own “rules”.

Same here. No expectations of winning a SB. Just watching the games and enjoying the ride no matter. I love watching the Cowboys. Win or lose. It’s my entertainment.

But when you say you no expectations of winning a Super Bowl that’s okay. So I watch the games for player development and progress and I’ve given up on the season. You watch the games for your entertainment and no expectations of winning a super bowl and you haven’t given up on the season. He pretty much doesn’t like anyone.

It fun to watch him flounder around sometimes, but you can’t ever approach him with the intent of actually talking football because he’s an unreasonable person.

There is only one reason to not give up on the season: they were able to put up 40 points against Green Bay. Everything else this season, including the win against the Giants was just pathetic. On and off the field by the way.

They can win despite Jerry. They did it before when Jerry was actually worse. He use to go down to the sidelines during games during Jimmys years.

Jimmy was still there though. And the players knew who the buck stopped with.

I agree with this mindset. I don't understand the mentality of giving up so early. We wait all off season for games and some posters are already looking forward to the draft.

What's the point of the draft if you never enjoy the actual games played.

So you're not interested in winning a super bowl? If we are not super bowl caliber, then the draft is very exciting to see if we can become that.
