He said alot more about the Cowboys in general but I was not able to write everything down at the time

He is not the same player as he was two years ago

Maybe Todd Bowles changed him

Hasn't been the same in two years

I think he needs to strip down, kind of like a QB and work on his mechanic

He needs to ask himself "Why am I not the player I was"

I think the worst thing that could happen is that he went to Pro Bowl

He will have fooled himself and other people that he is a Pro Bowl Player

Writers should vote for the Pro Bowl

The Pro Bowl is a joke. Alot of players don't want to play in it. One guy gets hurt so they put another guy in there (hard to clarify this last statement, not sure what he meant)

Tony Casillias and Newy Scruggs continue to talk Roy Williams after the Babe Laufenberg segment

Casillias: Needs to be on the line of scrimmage

Casillias: Teams are not going to let him do it

Casillias: Horse Collar was his bread and butter before it got outlawed

Casillias: Once you lose your confidence, a tenacious player is going to be in trouble

Casillias: As much as he gets ripped in the media, it is hard

Newy: He says he doesn't listen to it

Casillias: Yes he does, you have to live under a rock not too

Newy: How do you deal with the Overrated tag

Casillias: When I was the 2nd player picked in the draft, I was expected to change the defense

Casillias: If you don't have the ego and confidence as a player, you are in trouble

Casillias: When a player starts to listen to the fans and media, it can be tough

Casillias: Roy hasnt been able to play his way out in 2 years

Casillias: Some are talking about trading him

Newy: What can you get?

Casillias: What are you going to get from him? He is a good player, he is a 5 time Pro Bowler, so somebody out there likes him but it is mainly repuation.

Casillias: When I watch Roy I look for tenacity and I have not seen it. It seems at times he is afraid to make a mistake and unsure of himself.

Newy: Is it mental with Roy?

Casillias: Yes, he is afraid to make a mistake and the big plays are getting to him. He has to play himself out of it and get the confidence back.

Newy: Is Roy a 2 down player?

Casillias: You paid the guy that much money he needs to be out there all three downs. However, I came out on 3rd Down because I wasn't the best pass rusher. It makes more sense to take him out on 3rd down. But teams are going for the big play on 1st and 2nd Down.

Newy: Coaching staff has actually acknowledged that he has problems in coverage.

Newy: Very good TEs in this league and they have exposed Roy Williams at times. Especially in his own division.

Casillias: I don't know Roy personally, so I don't know if it work ethic or film study. Seems like a domino effect for the last 2 years and it seems it is too easy to expose him.

Newy: Roy needs to be a guy who shows up.

Casillias: Ware, Ellis, James, Newman, Hamlin are guys that you know are going to be there. Roy is a guy you hope to show up but don't know.

Casillias: This is a signature game for Roy in the Playoffs. Needs to say look, I struggled this season but here I am.

Newy: Reeves was a late round pick, didn't expect much.

Yes, that would solve any Pro Bowl issues.

A guy who never sniffed a Pro Bowl, slamming a guy who makes Pro Bowls. Go Figure.

He didn't provide one stat, so he obviously has no idea what he's talking about.

I thought last year he definitely earned his pro bowl spot.

This year was definitely a reputation selection, but then you still have to stack that up to what others at his position were doing and you still kinda have to shrug and say, "maybe."

And as far as it being a reputation selection, every year certain guys get in on rep, so I won't knock Roy for doing the same. I mean, how many years did Larry Allen get in? It happens.

5 picks and 9 pass defenses in 06, don't look too bad to me.

Regardless of the Pro-Bowl talk, Casillas is bringing up valid points about Roy.
No one, one day decided to pick a player out of the hat and start picking on him, Roy's play brought the criticism on himself. Yeah, it's hard, but 'it's hard' doesn't cut it in the real world, when you have a job to do.

Eh...it's funny how memes start and grow. There doesn't have to be any truth to it at all to start, but once the confirmation bias kicks in, it's a done deal.

Tony Romo was 4-1 with Jessica Simpson attending games, but you had a national phenomenon with the whole ruinromo.com schtick.

the fact that Roy makes Pro-Bowls does solidify it as a joke. I think Mikel from philly (he might be a rookie) is already better than Roy Williams.

I think one player from each team should represent that team in the Pro Bowl.
As far as Roy, the debate continues. I mean the brightest minds here keep saying he is the same player, but i just don’t see it. I think each year his play gets worse. His impact weakens each season it seems. Maybe his body has taken too much wear and tear, i don’t know.

Well, from what I've been watching of Roy, there's a noticable difference. It's being mentioned because it's true...

The Pro Bowl is a joke.

Casillias: Once you lose your confidence, a tenacious player is going to be in trouble

Casillias: Ware, Ellis, James, Newman, Hamlin are guys that you know are going to be there. Roy is a guy you hope to show up but don't know.

And the madness continues.

Again, how can these guys (2 of whom were ex-NFL players) "ramble" on with such "idiocy"? Guess it's time to add their names to the continually growing, long list of professional "haters."

There's no way the guys can say these things — while not providing stats — and have it be true.

Perhaps, it's time to direct these guys to the expert opinions of some of the board members here, and THEN they'll be set straight.

I agree most with the confidence issues.

Roy isn't nearly as bad as people make him out to be, but I do believe that is tentative compared to previous years. I think it's kind of gotten to him.

The only thing that's changed about his play is that he doesn't go for the big hits anymore, which is a good thing. Well, that and he plays a different role in our dime packages. People just love those big hits, though. He could miss 5 tackles and give up 5 TDs but as long as he lays one of those big hits, people would love him. Now, that's gone. But like I say, that's a good thing.

If Roy finds his confidence then he will find his old game.
