Mosley says he was talking to some people at Valley Ranch today, and this is the first time he's heard this... But he says some of the internal team strife started at a team meeting after it was announced that Pacman Jones would not only play, but be immediately inserted into the starting nickel lineup and punt return role. Goes back to accountability, and the players wondering why he deserved to play so much right away. Apparently he'd been seen doing some "Pacman things" on the town the week before... Use your imagination on that one.

Just reporting what I heard.

And this is my speculation, but it makes me wonder if this could've been what Newman was talking about. If Pacman is out there blowing assignments like he did -- when he wasn't getting himself suspended -- I could see why some of the players thought he hadn't earned his way back on the field yet.

That's purely a guess on my part, so please don't hang Newman for it. (Although I do agree he never should've said anything negative about the coaches.)

I also would bet dollars to doughnuts that Jerry was the one pushing for Pacman to play right away. Jerry pumped up Pacman nonstop in every interview I heard, while Wade sounded lukewarm about him.

Well whoa... 103.3 just said that Pacman was just released! If so, this is a great sign for the team this year!

I said from day one I didnt want him anywhere near the team after his latest suspension. This is a reason why.

People say TO is a cancer, but you cant tell me PacMan is not. Look at the Titans and their turnaround. Granted it is not solely due to Pac, but you would be hard pressed to convince me that PacMan does not hold a significant impact.

I guessed this one a while back. It sent a bad message that he not only got in trouble again but he came right back in, sight unseen like he never left. All while wearing his Homer Simpson PJ bottoms.

That is where Jerry Jones made a mistake. I am always for adding talent, even troubled talent. But after he came back, he should not have been reinserted like nothing ever happened.

It is a rock solid lock it was Jones doing it. Phillips doesn't have nearly enough control of this team to have a say like that. That is part of the issue: Jerry Jones is responsible for quite a bit of the disgruntled troops.

Was this ever really in question?

There was no way Jerry wasn't going to take the heat for going out and getting his new toy and not let him be on the field.

And again, I'm sure Jerry - the Ultimate Madden GM - gave absolutely no thought about what would happen in the clubhouse when he did that.

This statement looks kinda silly now that Jerry cut him.

I never wanted the guy in Dallas I never understood why we even signed him

How so?

It was making a statement after the fact. Cutting him now makes a statement that perhaps this is part of "change". That speaks nothing about what I said.

The simple fact is, nobody was obligated to bring him back, particularly like he never left.

did mosley elaborate at all on how he was a cancer? I mean understand some players being angry that he slipped right back in to the 3rd CB slot but did mosley mention exactly how it divided the locker room? Were there some players that were for pacman? Did this lead to anything on the offensive side of the ball, as far as division in the locker room? Sorry for all the questions - just would like some closure so to speak on a wasted season.

As important as it is that we released him, the important thing for the organization to remember is the mindset it took to create all this drama in the first place. Not only the willingness to take a chance on Pacman, but then to absolve him of all his wrongdoings and immediately play him the week he returned when, according to this report, the rest of the locker room was appalled by such a decision.

None of the decision to play him was Pacman's fault. That blame rests squarely on the organization.

So as good as it is we got rid of the guy, it's important that as an organization we move away from the mentality that talent rules out over all else. At the end of the day, players want and need accountability. If a guy is suspended, he can't be welcomed back the next week and inserted into a starting role. If a player speaks out about wanting the ball, the owner can't step on the coaches' toes and agree with the player. If a quarterback is throwing up too many turnovers, his miscues can't be glossed over by the coaching staff when addressing the media/public.

So, yes, congrats to the Cowboys for wising up here. But let's also wise up on the bigger picture, please.

Didn't Bradie James specifically ask him to get up in front of the entire team and apologize?

Pretty sure some of our coaches felt the same way, wasnt it Campo who was saying back before or the beginning of TC that he looked lost?

I was ambivalent about the original signing since we didn't give up a whole lot and he certainly appeared to have upside.

But I thought Pacman was the one of the biggest embarrassments of that Philly debacle which is saying a lot.

He was absolutely horrible on returns, played with total reckless abandon and without regard for the risks he was taking.

It might have been understandable if he showed the explosiveness to make a big play but that was never the case. He looked like a mediocre return guy who played like he was Deion II.

Regardless of what he did off the field I am thrilled to see the guy released. Next gone will be Tank which sounds like a positive as well.

Those are two good first steps in re-assembling some cohesiveness for this team. More work to be done.

From what I've read, Pacman liked to free-lance. He did what he wanted to do and didn't listen to the coaches.

He helped us when Newman was out. Dallas doesn't go 9-7 without him, but he is a very bad role model for young players.

The British Lady, o.k. Jerry Jones, just told him, good bye.

This is interesting. So there was some team issues over him being brought right back in and allowed to play and this is part of the reason he's now been cut?

Again I don't care what the reason is. I'm just glad he's now gone.

I don't know what to think about how Tank really behaved during his time here. We heard for some time he was a model citizen and in some regards a team leader.

But then he seemed to disappear on the field and make some inappropriate comments about free agency without regard apparently for the team that pulled him off the scrap heap.

It made me pretty uncomfortable seeing Pacman getting chummy with him.
