parcellswaterboy said:We've lost to Denver and played from behind and never could deliver the knockout punch. The Giants beat Denver..decidedly.
parcellswaterboy said:So the Giants are the team that is the benchmark.
We have to look at them as the team we must beat to get into the playoffs.[/QUOTE=parcellswaterboy]
looks like we both have the same record
parcellswaterboy said:I don't buy into the rhetoric BP is sending out or other players are sending out that this is just one game in 5 to be played.
We have to put our foot on the Giant's throat and beat these guys decidedly.
If we lose..I think Dallas's shot at the playoffs goes with it.
We can't afford to spot the Giants a 1 game lead in the division and lose any tiebreaker advantage to them if we lose this game.
With the killer schedule of 3 away games in December and 5 overall against good teams..this is our championship game right here.
If we don't rise to the occasion and beat the Giants and sweep them, I think this team really will struggle under the pressure to get to any playoff position afterwards.
We need momentum. We need confidence we can win a big game and that we can dictate play offensively.
can't argue with that
parcellswaterboy said:The Giants are the better team right now.
how so? we're both 7-4
parcellswaterboy said:Absolutely they are beatable.
And we'd better get to doing it or things are going to slide here in December if every one of these games has to be the next game we have to win to catch the Giants or grab a playoff spot.
We've blown too many games over the course of the season already.
We blow this Giants game..I think the year is close to over for us figuratively and nobody will consider this team to be a valid contending team for the year.
I don't want us to back into the playoffs with a 9-7 record becuase the Giants struggle at the finish. We really need to go out 10-6 or 11-5 to make any sort of statement about the team that will give us momentum in a playoff situation.
And I think our only path to the playoffs is as the Eastern Division champ. I don't think we'll win a Wild Card. There are other teams capable of having a better record than us in the NFC if we don't win at least 10 games.
This is the biggest game of the year for this team.
And the Giants are the better team.
We have to prove otherwise.
That's just my take. And just about anybody who isn't a died-in-the-wool Cowboy fans believes the same thing.
Dallas is close to their Expiration Date for '05 if they don't go on National TV and beat the Giants with all this on the line late in the season.
This is the type of game all these Veteran players have stated time after time they came to Dallas and to play for BP for.
They want another chance late in most of their careers to play for one more championship.
Well..this is the game they all have written a check with their mouths that their bodies have been paid to cash.
This is the game. And this is only the first of 5 they have to keep writing those checks for..and keep cashing them.
BP has to squarely place the fate of the season on the veteran players who have come here for him and on the remaining players here that have been from past losing Dallas teams.
This core of players has to take us the rest of the way.
Pure and simple.
We'll see.

I'm trying not to be a Chicken Little about this game, but have to concur the Jints are a 'marginally' better team, and home field advantage swings it even more their way.Qwickdraw said:I repeat...
They sure beat them decidedly.... by one point. All I know is we dominated them for 59 minutes earlier in the season. Turnovers and a late defensive breakdown caused the game to go into OT.parcellswaterboy said:.

Well, I'm having Yumenora (sic) coming out party nightmares. You know, the day Strahan conclusively becomes the 'other Giants pass rusher" type stuff.summerisfunner said:no seriously LTN, the only way the Gspots are better than us is because they have homefield advantage, Matt Hasselbeck had nowhere near the success against us that he had against the Gints secondary, and that was with heavy pressure from Osi and Strahan, so I believe that Bledsoe is going to have a big day

Dallas collapsed against Seattle, but so did the Giants.
summerisfunner said:dude, noone has ran against us, I think we can put that fear to bed
Glenn vs. taller wideouts scares me too, but he did good against Roy WIlliams
parcellswaterboy said:I can't look at them as better than the Giants because I thought they played Seattle much better than we did, even in a losing cause. We had to collapse to let Seattle win..
You've gotta be joking, right? We DOMINATED the Seahawks for 59 minutes...
