The Dallas Cowboys are a better team than the New York Giants.

Period.

We are?

Is our OL currently better than theirs? No
Is our running game/running back better? No
Are Key/Glenn better than Burress/Toomer? Not according to stats and production.
Is our QB better? By production and rank, yes, but certainly their guy is more mobile, sacked less, and given much more time.
Is Witten better than Shockey? No, imo...I'd call it a wash though Shockey seems to have a propensity for bigger downfield plays.

Is our DL better than theirs? Deeper maybe, better...nope...we'd love to have either of their DEs and overal pass rush.
Are our LBs better than theirs? No, certainly not at this point.
Is our secondary better than theirs? Yes, definitely when Henry is healthy and true even now.

Is our kicker better? No...even with Feeley's 3 misses on Sunday, he's missed only 5 all year.
Is our punter better? potentially yes, but has the guy had a single game where he punted as well as he was in preseason?

I think we can win if we can protect Bledsoe and protect the football, but to argue that we are hands down a better team than the Giants is a little silly right now, imo...They've gone about building that team in the right way, and it looks like it will be the Cowboys and Giants for the next few years in the NFC EAst.

You can want the Cowboys to be the better team, etc.

But until they actually step up and beat the leader teams they play..nobody should seriously consider them a better team.

I can't look at them as better than the Giants because I thought they played Seattle much better than we did, even in a losing cause. We had to collapse to let Seattle win..

..and the Giants had to play a very good game to lose gainst a Seattle team that has gotten better since we lost to them.

We've lost to Denver and played from behind and never could deliver the knockout punch. The Giants beat Denver..decidedly.

So the Giants are the team that is the benchmark.

We have to look at them as the team we must beat to get into the playoffs.

I don't buy into the rhetoric BP is sending out or other players are sending out that this is just one game in 5 to be played.

We have to put our foot on the Giant's throat and beat these guys decidedly.

If we lose..I think Dallas's shot at the playoffs goes with it.

We can't afford to spot the Giants a 1 game lead in the division and lose any tiebreaker advantage to them if we lose this game.

With the killer schedule of 3 away games in December and 5 overall against good teams..this is our championship game right here.

If we don't rise to the occasion and beat the Giants and sweep them, I think this team really will struggle under the pressure to get to any playoff position afterwards.

We need momentum. We need confidence we can win a big game and that we can dictate play offensively.

The Giants are the better team right now.

Absolutely they are beatable.

And we'd better get to doing it or things are going to slide here in December if every one of these games has to be the next game we have to win to catch the Giants or grab a playoff spot.

We've blown too many games over the course of the season already.

We blow this Giants game..I think the year is close to over for us figuratively and nobody will consider this team to be a valid contending team for the year.

I don't want us to back into the playoffs with a 9-7 record becuase the Giants struggle at the finish. We really need to go out 10-6 or 11-5 to make any sort of statement about the team that will give us momentum in a playoff situation.

And I think our only path to the playoffs is as the Eastern Division champ. I don't think we'll win a Wild Card. There are other teams capable of having a better record than us in the NFC if we don't win at least 10 games.

This is the biggest game of the year for this team.

And the Giants are the better team.

We have to prove otherwise.

That's just my take. And just about anybody who isn't a died-in-the-wool Cowboy fans believes the same thing.

Dallas is close to their Expiration Date for '05 if they don't go on National TV and beat the Giants with all this on the line late in the season.

This is the type of game all these Veteran players have stated time after time they came to Dallas and to play for BP for.

They want another chance late in most of their careers to play for one more championship.

Well..this is the game they all have written a check with their mouths that their bodies have been paid to cash.

This is the game. And this is only the first of 5 they have to keep writing those checks for..and keep cashing them.

BP has to squarely place the fate of the season on the veteran players who have come here for him and on the remaining players here that have been from past losing Dallas teams.

This core of players has to take us the rest of the way.

Pure and simple.

We'll see.

If we are the better team, we are marginally better. Fact is, the two teams are very close in talent and they have the home field advantage.

The concern by many is understandable.

looks like the same Seattle team to me, you have proof that says otherwise?

the Giants actually had to come from behind in that game and win it late, they were behind by a sizeable lead at one point, and I could say we were neck and neck with a better Denver team than the one the Giants faced

I'm trying not to be a Chicken Little about this game, but have to concur the Jints are a 'marginally' better team, and home field advantage swings it even more their way.

Can our D hold them to under 20 again?

If so, we can take it, but their offense is hitting a stride now and every time out Manning puts a little more savvy in his game.

We shall see.

They sure beat them decidedly.... by one point. All I know is we dominated them for 59 minutes earlier in the season. Turnovers and a late defensive breakdown caused the game to go into OT.

Dallas collapsed against Seattle, but so did the Giants.

no seriously LTN, the only way the Gspots are better than us is because they have homefield advantage, Matt Hasselbeck had nowhere near the success against us that he had against the Gints secondary, and that was with heavy pressure from Osi and Strahan, so I believe that Bledsoe is going to have a big day, and our D is going to confuse Eli once again...

Well, I'm having Yumenora (sic) coming out party nightmares. You know, the day Strahan conclusively becomes the 'other Giants pass rusher" type stuff.

I won't whimper and whine further, but it will take a complete game by our boys to hold the sky up in the Meadowlands this week, I suspect.

hey, the Giants will need a complete game too, that's why the only advantage I see the Giants having is that they're on their turf and have their fans behind them

I worry about Tiki running all over us, and Glenn vs the taller wideouts. And every time someone predicts Roy laying out Shockey, it never seems to happen.

Dallas' collapse was a bad pass and decision by Bledsoe. We pretty much controlled that game even though not by much. I think the Ginats controlled them somewhat also, but not like we did. We controlled the giants at home, should have won by 14.

However, that was earlier in the season, both teams are playing different now. I think we are still too conservative, as where the Giants are not. Mainly due to the OL's, and DL's. I still think we lack in pressuring the QB consistantly.

I think both teams are equal, it will be a coacing strategy game and which QB does not make that big mistake. Bledsoe has pressure because it's on the road, and our OL. Manning has pressure, because it's his first real big game and this is more of a must win for them, than us.

dude, noone has ran against us, I think we can put that fear to bed

Glenn vs. taller wideouts scares me too, but he did good against Roy WIlliams

All it took was 1 run against us in the Denver game.

I am relaxed now. Just found out that Fox has the singleheader this week and the only game I will be getting is the Commanders and the rams. Since I am working the night before and have the work Sunday night. I will just sleep and hope when I get up, Dallas has prevailed.

No heart stopping game for me to see this week.
