... Well, I don't believe Parcells said that last week just to be his old, cantankerous self and in an attempt to keep Romo grounded. Parcells knows that even though we, the fans, and also the media think Romo has it completely figured out, that just isn't the case. Yesterday was a great example of that fact. Give the Giants credit. Their defensive game plan gave Romo a tough time. However, what is GREAT is that even with a less than perfect performance yesterday, Romo stepped up and made plays in the 2nd half and particularly in the 4th quarter.
Also, there were 2 things Romo said after the game that really stood out to me. One was his comment about spotting the Giant DB at the last split second and throwing the pass to Crayton just a little higher than he would have. I do believe Romo made that adjustment because on replay you could see the ball was just inches too high for the DB to be able to make an easy pick on the ball. It was just a little too high for him to have his hands in good position to make the pick. The ability to make such a quick mental adjustment on a throw is one few QBs possess.
The second comment Romo made was when he said something about his performance being ok because he was able to understand what they were doing to make it tough for him. He further said it would only be a problem if he didn't understand what they were doing. That is game experience in a nutshell and is invaluable in Romo's future development.
IMO, games like yesterday turn Romo's "baby steps" into mature, experienced, adult STRIDES.
