hmm, i'm not sure why we would be interested in him now considering we used 4 draft picks and signed 1 big $$ FA and 1 Undrafted FA to the DL. Howard would be the same as Canty and Spears but older and more expensive.
I was hoping that we would make the trade for him last year, it would've made a lot of sense. Looking back, I was even more right than I knew considering Dat is going to retire. Spending a lot of money to bring in Howard would make us crowded along the DL. Also, Howard is not a 3-4 DT. He could play 3-4 DE, 4-3, DT, or 4-3 DE. Doesn't make sense to me. The only thing that does make sense about it is that Glover and Ellis would probably both be gone within a week if we signed Howard.
I'd just hate to spend that kind of money on a deep position when we are so thin at several other positions...like K, LB, OL, FS....

LAW? Ughhhh with our secondary issues a 10 pick pro bowler like Law would have been a great sign.
