The FO was doing a repeat of the movie "Draft Day"...Dak was whom they wanted all along...they did their research..proven fact. All that Wentz and Lynch stuff was a distraction to keep Dak on the board longer. If every thing works out..hell of a draft..Zeke,Jaylon,Collins,Tapper and Dak....

Wow, I can't believe I never put that together. Crazy how things work in the NFL.
I had put together the pieces that the 4th round comp was because DeMarco left, but I somehow did not connect that final delicious link that it was the Eagles taking him that gave us that pick. I don't know how I missed that.

yea, hate to burst the OPs bubble, but that comp pick was for Jeremey Parnell. Greg Hardy wiped out DeMarco Murray's pick.

I didn't like not having a great RB last year, but this is a little much to say. It was 2 games, not entirely sure we ever got to see our "identity". We sure didn't have an identity in 2014 in the first two games, lost to San Fran and barely beat the Titans.

It takes a few weeks to settle in when it comes to the NFL.
Let me put it this way.....our identity last year was going to be the same it was from 2010-2013

You all remember the plane flying over Oxnard after the Eagles made a late play for Demarco Murray last summer. You remember the glee in Eagles fans' voices. What a coup that was. They really stuck it to us, nabbing the top rusher in the NFL right from under our noses and waved him in our faces.

Fast forward one year. Murray is in Tennessee, and the Eagles traded away piles of high draft picks to jump Dallas in the draft and get our future nemesis, Carson Wentz. Some say Dallas really wanted Wentz at #4.

The Cowboys were foiled again, so Eagles fans thought. Dallas "settled" for Ezekiel Elliott, but not the QB they wanted. The Eagles left Dallas with a lousy 4th-round compensatory pick for Murray as a consolation prize.

That comp pick the Eagles created became.....Dak Prescott.

LOL

Just desserts, or so it is said.

In all honesty it didn't work out for them and it didn't workout for us either. I know that Murray didn't look so hot last year but that was a bad team with a bad oline.
Lets be honest here. Without him we went back to a team looking for a running game and looking for our idenity. Murray was our idenity. I hope Zeke can become what Murray was. For those of you saying we lost cause Romo went out or we where winning before Romo got hurt its a week argument. We were not the same team as in 2014. We got a gimme from the Giants and we struggled for consistency on offense. The best Romo is 25-35 pass attempts Romo

The comp pic is funny though

I didn't think rushing the ball was a problem at all last season, they actually ranked 6th in the league IIRC... and that was with zero passing threat to keep the defenses honest!

Murray was a non-factor. Our only problem last year was with the dissolution of the passing game. Had Romo/Dez been in the lineup, we'd have been a very productive offense again and would have walked away with the division. That Eagles contract to DM was a horrible decision.
I agree the contract was horrible I was on board when they want him walk the one they replace them with nobody. McFadden is an absolute joke and should never have been our starting rb

Numbers are deceiving they were never threat last year like they were in 14 a good running team goalie score inside to 20 look up those numbers I'm sure they're not in the top 10

I agree with you there, too.

I think they thought they'd have more options last season, and got stuck in their own zipper. I also thought they thought Randle would be a slightly better player than McFadden turned out to be and didn't account for him going insane.

McFadden I never thought was a fit in Dallas, and I never really liked the signing. He's a good dude, though. Just not a good fit here. Morris, on the other hand, is the right guy. He just got here a year too late.

Funny you mention it. I wondered who had left that generated that extra pick...that is awesome. I'm serious, the narrative this year has been beyond an imaginations ability to conceive. Unbelievable. Epic.

Thanks for sharing!
