It's an experience not many get to live through, waiting to see where you're going to ply your craft for the next few years. And for the NFL guys it's so public and so commented on. These guys are young and watching them react to it is something I love.

I'm so glad people don't remember the crap I say on draft day.
You always were a monster that liked to keep under the radar, a bit.
How's the writing going? I wish I still had your work to read again... It was powerful. The first 5 pages was a spork to the eyeballs.

Right? I nailed you right, right?

Simon and Schuster paid me $1000 for one of my short stories. I keep plugging.

Hot damn right! You deserve at least that! Hot damn! I hope you the very, very best. You are a writer that needs to be read, on the horror circuit. Very Lovecraftian... imo, if I do remember. I'm sorry bud, I lost all files of everything.

What happened? Did you have to destroy your hard drive because of the mafia?

Wow... no wonder Broaddus ain't not no scout for nobody no more.

How many negatives did I fit in there? 5? 6? Damn... I need to improve my negative efficiency on a per sentence level.
#5 but my " between the lines" detector re analyzed it in spectrograph mode and gave a reading of 9:omg::lmao2:

Myles Jack just got demoted again in JAX
Man, could not be more thrilled for Jaylon if this works out the way we all hope.

But many would say the one we passed on was Noah Spence, not Myles Jack...may e even Micheal Thomas.

Doesn't matter now anyway,

Go get 'em Jaylon

Telvin Smith is the WILL and Poslozny is the MIKE

Jack will get his snaps at the SAM

So people here are upset because Jack wasn't drafted. Yet he's going to play Sam? Yea that could've been a wasted pick in this scheme. If Jaylon lives up to his hype there is no discussion IMO.

Hated this pick for us as an unnecessary risk when there were good defenders on the board, but at the same time, it really was a great moment for Jaylon after everything he went through. If the risk pays off--and it's looking like it did--it's a great NFL story.
Agreed. It's like many of these 2nd round risk. It's what the picks could have been and the impacts we might have had already with sounder picks at the time and or what we've sacrificed by having to wait for them to develop.

It's a little early to begin celebrating the pick just yet as following status quo would suggest. With almost 2 years removed from his injury we did expect him to play again but will it be to the level we expended a 2nd round pick for is still yet to be proven even with a nice debut.

And that doesn't mean this risk might not eventually work out . I'd feel much more comfortable if these risk were taken later in the draft than 2nd round .

I'm not sure how many need to work out for these risk to be considered worthy. One more success will help but I'm certainly not prepared to advocate continuing to take these risk at this point especially in the 2nd round when we're rebuilding a defense.

These type risk are much sounder decisions when you have an established team and looking to add to it but in a rebuild these can often slow or stifle the rebuild which I'd argue these risk have on defense.

With Jaylon Smith set to make his NFL debut pretty soon, I thought it would be nice to remember the night he was drafted. All the hard work this kid put in to get back onto the field has paid off, and now his NFL journey can officially begin!!

Still quite an accomplishment, but JS was ordinary at best last night. Hitchens is our starter for the forseable future. Hopefully by this season end, he start beasting.

They aren't really risks after the 2nd and most won't make it past the 2nd..... LCollins wasn't a risk

Jaylon was a true top 5 talent if healthy....... he was worth it
SLee was worth it
RGregory wasn't rated that high..........pun intended
BCarter could have been.....it wasn't his injury that held him back
DLawrence is still undecided
Fasano, MBennett and Escobar were not worth 2s here even if they had good careers

he's still has a long way to go IMO
The hard work and long ways to go are way over

It is just little steps getting better and better every day

He proved he can play MIKE in the NFL

he proved nothing to me he was did not get hit by any line men - he staid out the middle the only thing he did was drop in coverage and was limping doing that - just wait until a 300 lber hits him full speed
