This time of the season, rumors are going to be rampant.

Wannabe influencers on the internet will desperately throw out any information they hear as soon as they hear it and they will guess on the rest.

For example, the market has been dictating that Lamb's contract will likely be in the $32-34 million range. That combined with a projected 4-year contract suggests Lamb's contract will be 4 years and total somewhere around $128 to $136 million.

That's not my guess, but simply what the market has suggested that any random person could use to post their own "inside sources tell me" post knowing that if they are wrong, no one will remember or they will likely only be wrong by a little that will be written off as "they knew it, they were just a bit off likely due to last-minute changes".

We all love rumors and in the pre-social media days, it was great to throw around "I heard this" because the only motivation for people to announce predictions as facts was because they believe they were right. More importantly, they knew if they were wrong their reputation was going to be dragged through the mud.

These days though, every desperate social media influencer-wannabe is going to throw out guesses left and right because they know that most people will forget their wrong guesses, while their correct guesses will be included with every shared new guess.

I have said this many times before .. there are several people in the media who have established connections with real inside contacts. If they are not sharing the news of a rumor then it's hard to believe "AvidFan123" has a better source.
