well closer to this

Dak 35%
1b) Running game 30%
1c) Defensive takeaways 25%
2. coaching 10%

You are underestimating the importance of pass catchers - RB, TE and WR. QBs with mediocre pass catchers don't produce. Probably as important as 'running game'. It's really closer to:
- QB (35%)
- Running game and skilled pass catchers (25%)
- Defensive takeaways (25%)
- Coaching (15%)

The turnovers on defense is what is saving this defense. If not for those, I sometimes wonder how some of these games end up.
Still too many wide open receivers and though they are ranked high in the low amount of rushing yards given up. Look at the YPC on that.
We get a lead, and teams have to pass, therefore getting more yards in that category. Though we have been behind at half often. So not sure about the rushing yards in the 1st half. It is a weird stat though I have not look at 1st vs 2nd half.

In 1989 at 1-15, they were like 1st or 2nd in passing defense, but last in rushing defense. Kind of opposite this year but not as bad.

Defense still needs work.

They're camouflaging some defensive issues for sure.....

I say he gives us better chance to win in this NOW situation brah

if AD come heres as backup and plays the Vikes and game after to let daks calf heal its better and when Dak comes back we can at least feel good having solid backup.

OH on if AD is our day one starter, sure its different.

BTW we may have not been as dynamic but the way we played and lost to TB maybe , we lose bigger so its still a loss. but the next 4 games the run game and defense were more then adequate to win id Dalton doesn't turn it over and he doesnt do that a lot..hes a bus driver..he can hold it down IF the team is as is..

If AD is thr qb you think MM is dodi all that crazy stiff with NY and NE? no and Dak makes us dynamic and expllosive but AD with the way we won game 2, 3, and 4 with the run game more prominent

im not sure we lose, we just dont win by the same margins..

lets remember how much Dak was turning it over and losing games the first 5 last season without a defense , OL, and run game..

Dak clearly above Dalton, no debate at all but lets keep the facts straight on how much the rest of this team and coaching has changed from last season. Health, defense , coaching and energy, etc etc

so we MUST acknowledge the rest of the team.. in the past AD won 10 games many times when he had a solid team around him..

Id like AD as backup, not starter, but with Daks calf id like to rest dak the next 2 games bring in better backup like Dalton..

we dont need the calf lingering into bigger games..
OMG, you are so in love with Andy. its kind of creepy.

andy is not here. let it go.

no that’s not true. Correlation in this case is TOO strong a case for causation.

Dak has only had a 100+ passer rating in a season twice.

This year and 2016. he’s a combined 18-4 in those games. His passer rating below 95? 23-28.
so I guess wins/losses are all on the QB.

because 95 is not a bad rating......what this tells me is that he has to play at the highest level for this team to overcome things.....and this points to defensive problems....

1a) Running game
1b) QB solid
1c) Defensive takeaways

And I would add special teams actually contributing. When was the last time they blocked a punt besides last week?

Looking just like the Saints Super Bowl season......except we don’t have Katrina to get the calls from the refs via an NFL feel good narrative

NFL teams have a 69% win percentage when their quarterback has a 100.00+ Passer Rating:omg:

Great Quarterbacks simply make their team win. There is no “great” QB with a losing record. Our Quarterback made the jump to elite this season... and that’s the real reason we’re winning. Somebody like Baker Mayfield would have us below .500. Browns have more talent than the Cowboys on both sides of the ball and won’t even make the playoffs.
That’s been proven not to be true. Dak has been great for a while. Even last year. This team is a contender now because the defense and run game have stepped it up.

I certainly didn’t think Dak would ever be more than a backup when we drafted him but he has been more and more impressive each year. His command of the team, the offense, and his accuracy this year has been several steps beyond anything previously

QB play is ALWAYS why teams win or lose
That is why “great” QBs are great only if they take their teams deep into the playoffs and play in and win SBs
If Dak wants to be known for more than having made a lot of money he will have to lead this team to SBs and I’m hoping he will
Nah…

Great QBs don’t HAVE to goto a SB to be considered great. That’s an absurd metric and a post hoc rationalization. Great QBs are defined by their productivity on the field. Given the importance of the QB position in football, great QBs who produce on the field will also have odds favoring winning records. This doesn’t mean that they HAVE to get to a SB though to be considered great.

If they don’t goto a SB, then what are they?

Was Manning not great when he kept losing to Brady in the playoff?

What are they?

Average?

Solid (as chroniccowboy grudgingly admits lol)?

Was Mahomes not worth that contract the year he lost to Brady at home in the AFCCG?

QB solid?

Lmao..

You doubters won’t ever come out of your holes, will you?

Dak would be embarrassed by your unrelenting devotion to one player when it’s been an all around effort in achieving 5-1.

I don’t doubt Dak but even he will tell you he can’t do this alone. Dak has been solid, he can certainly clean up his play early in games. Again, he’d even tell you that.

If you feel like any criticism of Dak is unacceptable, you’re unreasonable.

Every place Fat Mike coached, the QBs improved while he was there. He sucks at clock management but he has been good coaching his QBs.

Dak is playing at an MVP-level. That doesn’t mean he’s achieved perfection or that a MVP-level of play is perfection.

Well it doesn’t mean that except in YOUR mind…

But only when it comes to Dak….

Because instead of focusing on his MVP-level of play, you want the focus to be on his mistakes.

But only when it comes to Dak…

No one else….

Because you can’t stand admitting you’ve been stone cold wrong about him…..

The only unreasonableness on this board when it comes to Dak is coming from your side of the aisle that expect perfection OR he’s just “solid”, and this grudgingly given “solid” moniker will be attached to all kinds of caveats that any idiot whose watched football knows. Axiomatic things like, “Dak can’t win by himself!” or “Dak needs talent around him!”, as if every great/elite QB whose ever played the game didn't qualify for these caveats as well. Yet even then, meh….he’s just “solid” lol

Lol that’s absolutely absurd and you people continually embarrass yourself lmao

He’s playing the QB position at an elite level

Go ahead and just say it and repeat it over and over for the next hour or so. Maybe you’ll get used to it lol.

Great point and very applicable to 2021
There are several QBs playing their butts off, but only one will lead his team to a SB win

what point was made? Obviously only 1 can win... the point is if you have the elite QBs, you are in the running to win the SB. With avg qb, the only real shot you have is if your D is ELITE.

Why you think P Manning only played in 3 Sbs? because Big Ben, and Brady were filling the gap as well.
