Andy Lee’s days with the San Francisco appeared to be numbered as soon as the 49ers selected a punter in the fifth round of this year’s NFL Draft.

Now his time in the Bay Area is over. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com, the Cleveland Browns are trading a 2017 seventh-round draft pick to the 49ers in exchange for Lee.

Lee, 32, is the longest tenured member of the 49ers. He was selected in the sixth-round of the 2004 NFL Draft and spent his entire year with San Francisco up to this point. Lee is a three-time Pro Bowl selection and first-team All-Pro. Lee has never missed a game during his 11-year career and has a lifetime average of 46.2 yards per punt.

The 49ers will turn their punting job over to rookie Bradley Pinion, selected with the No. 165 overall pick of the draft last month.

The Niners must want a younger leg with all of the punting that they will be doing this year.

Not sure why they drafted a punter or looked to trade Lee - he's one of the best punters in the league by far.

Good time to be living in the Bay Area. Got to slam down a Niner fan just this weekend who didn't realize we were 12-4 last season while his own team was not-so-quietly-on-fire. So much fun.

They got there Levi's stadium built and now they are imploding the team. How ironic.
