Apparently we should have re-signed Claiborne then packaged our first and second round picks to trade up to draft Rivers.

we had lots of choices and clairborne made the least sense given his injury track record.
the 2nd could have been used to sign rivers or willis or could have been used to trade up.
yes that is true.
or the 3rd could also have been used to do like.

What we actually did made the most sense despite your best efforts to confuse the issue with half-truths, assumptions and overanalysis.

i am starting to question who is in charge.
jerry clearly talked about getting a daddy.
then in their press conference after round 1, jerry ducked the question and stephen took it.
JJ has three voices in his ear, McClay, Stephen and Red. I think all three carry weight but I don't think there's any chance JJ would give up final say as long as he's breathing. If our personnel decisions were looking this well 10 yrs ago people would say Lacewell's a genius and in charge. All that being said, I would hate to see McClay walk away.

That would make me feel better because Jerry wants to win so badly.
He has also said that the best deals he has made cost a lot.
I just hope it is not Stephen getting too much influence, and it sure felt like it when Stephen took the 'where is the daddy' question after round 1 of the draft.

possible ways to get a daddy:
1. take an injured one though jaylon may have been too shiny an example for other teams
2. trade a 2nd for a 1st next year - but we did not do it this year (or there was no opportunity).
3. trade down from a 1st and get a 2nd plus a 1st next year
4. change the pot policy by getting compromising pictures of mara and craft by having a few of jerry's young female friends utilize their charms.
5. sign a free agent if one becomes available. we certainly have enough cap $.
6. tanking
7. injury (god forbid).

you will thank me for a topic to talk about next week for the next month...

I'm thanking you now for showing me how pointless it is to give up on someone or something without even waiting to see if it's warranted or not.

That's what the Japanese thought when WWII started and look how that turned out. :muttley:

you have the superbowl winner and the other 31 teams are losers.

yes, the poor germans had the whole thing won until the silly Japanese (were tricked into) dragged us into the war.

It just goes to prove how having faulty policies can lead to one's destruction. The Japanese paid dearly.

The Germans were also a good example of that. Today, their people are ashamed of being so gullible.

that is right with so many lessons in history.
but you also the winner writes the history book.
and those in control manipulate those under control with the best techniques available.

It depends upon what one considers the "best" techniques. It's often mistaken.

that is often best left to experts to achieve the most desired/cost-effective results.
when i was involved in tasks that involved PR, we consulted with an industrial psychologist and other consultants.

We need some big, throbbing daddies thrusting and penetrating hard into the backside of the offense
