NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the Cowboys are likely to use Marion Barber sparingly in Week 17 against the Commanders.

Schefter says Dallas is "gun shy" about risking a top weapon after Terrell Owens and Tony Romo's injuries. It sounds like Julius Jones will dominate running back duties instead. CB Terence Newman could also see limited snaps, improving Todd Collins' matchup. This is bad news for the Saints and Vikings, who will be rooting for Dallas to beat Washington on Sunday. I don't expect Barber to play the entire game either. This guy Shefter is just another talking head who is just reaching up into the sky and grabbing anything that tickles his fancy and calling it breaking news.

A monkey could do his job. It's rediculous how journalism in sports is nowhere to be found. Solid sources and checking facts? Not here!

Speculation and spin? We got that all day. www.espn.com and www.nfl.com

Sad really.

If true, that's fine. JJ may be mega fired up to prove he's not that bad. And he *is* capable of having big games from time to time -- no better time to have one than against the Skins.

Schefter, though I can't stand him and he's an obvious Cowboy-hater, does truly get inside scoops. I heard this live and have no doubt he has it from a good source.

I'd like to see Tyson Thompson get a lot of snaps from center in this game, personally.

I have no problem with that. Hopefully we can force feed JJ to his first 100 yard game of the year then.

I was about to come and here and say the same thing. I'd rather see Tyson even more than Julius in this game. Even though we use Barber more, Julius is still part of that 1-2 punch and if he goes down, that means we could be looking at Marion starting with Tyson being the backup.

My only disappointment about this development is that I was going to wear the NEW MB3 JERSEY WITH THE STARS ON THE SHOULDER I got for Christmas during the game.

I'm still gonna' wear it, but it's sweeter when he's in there stiff-arming linebackers and safety's, and bowling over defensive backs and just NOT GOING DOWN!!!

I dont know if I'd be too afraid of trying out Marion as a full time back.

Take the risk and ride JJ for the Skins game. If he shows us a flash again, time to use him a little bit more. If its more of the same, ride MBIII more.

Granted one game doesnt justify either extreme, but Julius hasnt shown us anything worthy of him getting any more carries.

Smart move.

I really dont know why Romo, Barber, Bigg, Newman, Witten, Ware, Flo, Canty, Hamlin, or any other SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTOR would even make the trip. I know about "getting rusty" and everything, but if we lost one of these guys with an ACL it could be our season.

Why do we always think worst?

I say let able starters play first half and yank them.

Boo hoo hoo. Nobody loves the Cowboys, yet they dominant the talk on most networks, except for the Pursuit of Perfection Patriots. :p:

Many posters here treat the Cowboys like an elementary child treats any discussion about his mother. If so much as one unflattering comment or a comment without a positive spin is uttered about one's mom, posters are ready to fight or accuse someone about talking bad about their moms.

When you mature, you don't take every comment as a slight or try to interpret even the most innocent analysis as a slight against your momma or your team.
