For the second time in the last few years, the Cowboys lost out on a game-changing safety who made it clear they wanted to be in Dallas, simply because the price tag got too high.

No matter your feelings on the Cowboys’ roster building as a whole, and even after seeing the haul of picks the Jets received in exchange for Adams, it’s still disappointing to see Dallas fail to upgrade to the very best at a position of need.

We should not think that the Cowboys weren’t at least calling on Jamal Adams, though.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler tweeted after the trade went down that the Seahawks (and parties involved) believed that both the Cowboys and 49ers were trying to land Adams as well. Our own John Williams has also heard rumors that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were trying to get in the mix as

So are you saying you're upset that we didn't overpay for Adams?

He's just quoting the article by some blogger dude who was apparently upset.

If we were considering it, count it as a loss and go get Griffen as a consolation. If you can't shore up the secondary, at least help out the D-Line.

Oh gee ANOTHER unsubstantiated speculative rumor is now supposed to believed as gospel truth. If the day ever comes when Jones says that the Cowboys made an offer for Adams, then and only then will I believe it. No matter what sportswriter guesses, speculates or starts any rumors will not convince me.

Glad we weren’t involved in giving up two number 1 picks.

Jamal Adams is a great player no argument there, but the price Seattle payed was extraordinary and rather surprising.
Jets got a haul in return and its not like Bradley McDougald is a trash throw in,, we would be overjoyed as Cowboys fans to have
    McDougald, easily our best safety.
So just saying the Jets banged this ball out of the park.

I heard on twitter it was thisclose. We offered a 2021 4th rounder and a photo op with Jerry. Jets wanted a photo op with Jerry, Zeke, and Dak.

the Seahawks already have their QB locked up for the future. In order for the Cowboys to beat that offer they might as well put it towards trading up in the draft near the top. They wouldn't be far off.

    Involved vs committed...

The old adage...For breakfast....the chicken is involved but the pig is committed

we were never going to pay what they wanted

    I think this is spin.

Look Cowboy fans, we really tried....

There were other reports that Stephen stating the Cowboys hadn't talked to the Jets for some time now.

That was the contract holdup - Dak wouldn't agree to the photo op and Jerry stayed firm on that being part of the deal.

Spin from the media, not the team. The FO could care less what the arm chair and some basement dweller GM's think. :lmao:
