Yes, so let's address nothing. Since when do we ever really address issues in defense? Never. We rely on bargain bin players or pin our hopes on the draft. So we save some money by not signing Adams...we don't fix a position of great need and save money which we won't use appropriately next year, either. You don't need a book if you've been following this team for any length of time. Thanks for the reading suggestions, though.

Not true. We brought in Poe, McCoy and Neville to fix the Dline and Aldon Smith and Bradley Anae at DE, and Trevon Diggs CB out of Alabama, plus more. The Dline will see a major improvement against the run, for a change.
BTW, the way you keep talking about "saving money" you sound like you've never heard of a salary cap.
Mike McCarthy is bringing in more QUALITY players this year than we've seen in some time, but giving away an arm and two legs for one player like Adams is not in the cards and never was, thank goodness.

He has a no trade clause. He signed a very mlb/nba star like contract.

Yes, and Poe and McCoy will need to be replaced in a couple years. Who knows what Aldon will be. Gregory doesn't want to play. Yes...thank goodness we've stayed away from making a splash in FA. Mediocrity is so much more comfortable.

Obviously you need to read the football 101. In that book you'll find that teams that have more issues than one or even more issues than one on just one side of the ball and then they use up multiple resources getting a single player that does not cure all of the issues. When that team does not win the Super Bowl after using all of the resources they used, they find that it takes even longer to get to the Super Bowl because they don't have those resources to address those other issues. People like you think the real NFL is exactly like Madden football or fantasy football and unfortunately for you it's not. I'm also sure that at least you think that one of the NFL teams will see this assessment and pound down your door and make you the next NFL GM.

Which is exactly why it would've been stupid to blow two 1st's, a 3rd, and a starter, and then still have to pay the guy a healthy contract.
With all those draft picks plus a starter down the drain, how would you replace all those guys you said were leaving??
Oh that's right I forgot, you were only interested in ONE season for that automatic Super Bowl that Adams was going to guarantee.
After that one year, we'll never need to replace anybody again.

You mean like we did by drafting a running back 4th overall and then paying him, or what about Taco or a linebacker or who may be good or may be one hit away from ending his career?

I know you are one of those people who stomp your feet and cry about others not knowing football whenever someone disagrees with you. So, I'll just say I can only aspire to reach the level of your football wisdom someday. You need to look up some books yourself, of the self help variety.

When did I say we would never need to sign anyone again? I get you're trying to be funny, so I guess no points off for trying. At this point, you wouldn't leverage the next couple seasons to win a Super Bowl now? If we really are as good as we are ever going to be on offense? Some might be okay with decades of failure, but I want a ring now.

Yeah, I'm sorry but I don't have a whole lot of confidence in those 2 at DE. Great IF we're better at stopping the run but if a QB is comfortable back there all game long, they won't even have to run. My campaign wasn't for Adams, and it was a ridiculous price to pay anyways. I'm all for pass rushing help. I'd feel a whole lot better if we went out and got Griffen. Even that's not a guarantee but it's more of a known quantity versus a "let's hope for the best" approach there. Right now as an offense, I'm doubling/getting help to take care of Lawrence and then like my chances everywhere else.

Not sure if Dlaw is going to sit out the season for the Covid thing or not, but if he's good to go I'm hoping Aldon Smith can hold up the other side, and maybe Anae as a backup. I agree about Griffen.

Based on your last response you'll never get to my level. When your only response is attacking me and not offering ANYTHING football related it shows your limited knowledge.

LOL!!! Simmer down, sport! I do believe instead of debating risk/reward, YOU started with the insults, as you often do with anyone who disagrees with you. Everyone who disagrees with you has "limited knowledge", eh guru?

Trading two 1sts and a 3rd puts us in even worse shape than what you're lining out.

You should be able to fix a position w/o giving away so much that it keeps you down.

Yeah, it was pretty funny/ironic that someone would say that following the off where we actually addressed it!!!!

Again ALL you have is attacking me. Nothing about football, just attacking me. And you talk about me. Here's a news flash for you. I do talk about football. Like the foolish people that want to spend whatever it takes to get one player that will not push the Cowboys over the top and get them to a Super Bowl but doing that will make it take longer to get there because the Cowboys will have less draft picks to fill any of the other needs the team has.

Actually, no, I don't talk about you. Not until you respond to my post with insults. Then, yes, I will talk about you.

It's like with Cooper. Oakland was shopping him, lots of teams were in it for a 2nd, but only Dallas was willing to ante up to a 1st.

Now when you consider that the Seattle paid two 1sts, a 3rd, and a decent vet safety for Adams on basically the same rookie contract Cooper had.... whew.

Gee you counting and associations is a lot murky. You equate ONE 1st round draft pick with TWO 1st round picks PLUS a 3rd round pick PLUS a decent player.. Your logic is 1 equals the same as 2 + 1 + 1. Gee that makes so much sense I don't get why they don't teach that math in schools.
