Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com reports that Colts coach Tony Dungy is informing coworkers that he has decided to retire.
Per Glazer, Dungy is making the rounds at the team’s complex, saying his good-byes, and informing all concerned that the transition should be smooth for his successor, Jim Caldwell.
Though crazier things that Dungy changing his mind between now and 5:00 p.m. EST have happened, it looks like Dungy is calling it quits.
And he has said in recent interviews that, once he’s done, he’s not coming back.
DUNGY PRESS CONFERENCE COMING AT 5:00 P.M. EST

The Colts have announced that a press conference will be held at 5:00 p.m. EST on Monday, presumably to declare the status of coach Tony Dungy.
We say presumably because the one-line press release says only this: “The Indianapolis Colts will hold a press conference today at 5:00 p.m. at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center.”
If Dungy retires, assistant head coach Jim Caldwell will become the next head coach.
Last year, the world learned of Dungy’s decision to return in similar fashion, with a late-afternoon press conference. In that case, the team announced that owner Jim Irsay, president and G.M. Bill Polian, Dungy, and Caldwell would attend.
