I don't think it was dumb, just a terrible thing to do. Trying to sell cocaine (and he was probably looking to sell heroin) is stuff that can destroy people's lives, ruin families and cause an insurmountable heartbreak and devestation.

He is a jerk and I hope he gets what he deserves.

Well, he won't get probation, because it involves major weight. But since weapons aren't involved, I could see 3-5 years and eligible for parole in 18 mos.

Because 1 or 2 or a handful of injustices aren't a good reason to stack another one on top.

Well, both were found not guilty (while I do think both were guilty) and Hurd will be pleading guilty, big difference.
