I don't believe the story. However, I bet every QB wants to face our defense. It's lacking talent and one of the easiest to figure out. I hope this changes and we really focus on defense in free agency and draft. Scheme will stay same.

5th in the NFL on points per game but the "easiest" to figure out. I bet other quarterbacks just love getting 19 points a game. I guess we just have a lot of dumb offensive coordinators in the league and we need to get more fans in here.

Nobody is acting like our defense doesn't need help. They need more talent but some of the stuff you read around here is absurd. Give me the same guys plus a pass rusher and another LB and we will be fine.

Roy (Oklahoma) Williams injured Emmitt when the Cowboys faced AZ, IIRC.

Yep, I remember it well. Loved Emmitt too, but no man is bigger than the team. Those were bad years...

Seems like a clever twist of the facts to generate clicks.

I suspect they were lead to believe through speculation and/or sources that Tony would be interested in playing for Kansas City, Denver & Arizona and then realized these teams play Dallas in 2017, so the headline changed to one that was more provocative, then they decided to add a little twist (likely pulled from their backside) by throwing Washington into the mix.

I'd make a large wager that Romo never said "I want to play for a team that plays Dallas in 2017"

yawn whether it's true or not. Nobody is worried about Romo like that. We should have bigger fish to fry than a rivalry with his new team.

Can you blame him? We have no pass rush....

Don't blame Romo one bit. I'd have a tall chip on my shoulder too.
It would be a hell of a game cause Dak would bring it to himself.
Greatest TV rating in history. Makin it rain all over the NFL.

I remember Emmitt being very vocally eager to play the Cowboys until Roy Williams greeted him in the hole and quickly muted his afternoon.

No fear of Tony as an opponent. If he wants to play us good for him. If he wins, good for him. But I'll be rooting for the team with The Star on the helmet, and that team will be formidable in 2017.

I would guess that would actually be low on the list of why he would want to face us.

1. He feels betrayed by a team he gave 10 years of good service too

2. He never got a chance to show what he could do with a team that I know he feels was a legit contender

3. He feels as good as Dak played he probably believes he could've done done better

4. As someone said earlier, he's probably pissed at Garrett for not having the stones to go with the best option(him)once he was available to play. I'm giving you Romo's thinking here.

5. He probably feels the organization cost him a chance at a SB by not giving him his job back once he recovered from injury

The state of the defense doesn't mean squat at this point. Now that would probably mean extra joy for him if he were able to exploit that and rub it in by running up the score

I know people are down on the defense... but don't act like they ran over this season.

We lost to GB because we didn't control the pace. The offense needed to set the tone early.

We needed to get out to an early lead and force them to play catch up.

But Garrett sorta babied the defensive players the last 3 games or so.

Should've kept his foot on the gas.

If you can play in the playoff game then they should've been available for the Tampa, Detroit and Philly games.

Good call on not believing it. This is typical of news media these days. Cite an unnamed source to make up a spicy confrontational storyline. The fact that the teams listed are ones with questions at QB make it so that it could look true if Romo went to one of these teams. It's an unethical writer's wet-dream. I can promise you that even if Romo wants to play against the Cowboys, he would not be whispering about it to anyone who would leak it.

I'm starting to think we need to create some kind of law against yellow journalism with some sort of repercussions.

Totally agree and I generally like Jason Cole (who wrote the article) but the difference between Cole and 50 posters on this site is that he doesn't have a day job.

I love the bravado in this thread.......Romo is going to get crushed, better have a stretcher ready, ect....

I am just curious what defense you guys have been watching because this defense is about as QB friendly as it comes. When was the last QB we actually knocked out of a game because of a hard hit? Like maybe 5 seasons ago? I honestly cant remember.

The defense could also be Romo friendly when he plays against us.
