I know this will not go over big !

BUT IMO

Jerry needs to get this deal done now!

He is hurt - There are always opportunities when chaos happens - here it is! show faith in MO sign him to a very team friendly deal now. This may be the best time to get a good deal done for a fair/reasonable contract.

I understand there will be many different opinions on this however this is my stance !

What's a fair contract is the question.

Mo will look at it as say look what I did in the first 7 games and the Boys will look at it and say the guy can not stay healthy.

His whole career has been a bust and most people now say they knew he could do it, but he was always hurt. (as if they had some great knowledge that he would break out this year)

Hey look! Claiborne is injured again!

I appreciate how he's played this year. It was great. But you can find a serviceable, and low-cost, CB who can make it through the season.

Thanks for a great half a season, Mo. But unless it's ~$3million/year, like he's making this year, I'd let him walk.

A fair contract would be somewhere around the one year contract we gave him earlier this year.

I believe it was 1 year 3 million + incentives.

So a fair contract with be a slight raise with incentives in my opinion. Maybe 1 or 2 year for 5 million + incentives with injury clause (like the one rg3 had)

Deep CB draft in 2017. Draft 2 and roll with them, Scandrick and Brown next year. Mo just can't play 16 games and it's not going to get better as he gets older. Time to move on.
great point, i think the FO looks at how effectively they have evaluated talent the last few drafts and could possibly have the mindset that they can draft someone just as good or better which would drive their buying price on Mo down

I think he has been our best or 2nd best defensive player this year (behind Sean Lee). I would re-sign him too a Sean Lee like contract (because of injury history) with the following caveat: What I am about to say will not be popular with everyone around here....but I think Mo needs to start making business decisions when it comes to "sticking his nose in there". His coverage skills are too valuable to us to risk them in the "scrum". Much some of the great ones of the past...he needs to pick and choose when to "get in there"

I guess my only comment/question to this would be- would we rather have some flexibility in the draft to go another route instead of being forced to draft 2 CB. I personally would like to have more options to go several different routes.

I am not a contract / Cap guru so im not sure, BUT maybe Mo likes Dallas, i mean he signed the one yer deal when he was one of the most controversial players here. None of us really knows what is important to MO. Maybe he wants to prove himself here, maybe he likes the team we are building and wants to be apart of it. Maybe he is willing to put team above himself ( I know Naive but you never know what makes a player tick ). Or yes maybe the money is important and he will leave. One never knows

I never claimed i knew he could do it ! i just always kept hope/ faith that he would come around. He is a Cowboy so i root for him, but thats me as a person i tend to look for the good in people and players. When he is no longer a Cowboy i will root for his replacement. I did not know he would have a breakout year this year but i hoped he would and i hoped every year he played for us that each year would be the year he turned it around. Injuries are tricky, this is not an easy decision, but i think the discussion is worth having even though none of us have any say in the decision when it is finally made. ;)

I wouldn't re-sign him for anything but a 2-3 year team friendly deal. He's always hurt. Not a single season of 16 games played.

I'd rather spend a first rounder on a CB (something I'm not too fond of) than re-signing this player.

Don't know if this would happen but it would be a shrewd move most definitely. For that alone I give it a like. Our bargaining position would never be more favorable and the upside could be huge if he finally gets and stays right physicallly. That stated - if we get a Joe Haden prior to deadline then there's no chance of this happening. Interesting thinking nonetheless.

I didn't specifically point out people, but if you go review some of his threads. Names will scream at you that did claim it.
