He has outperformed both in TC. But that isn't saying much, Cousins and McCoy are not starters in this league. We could very well be looking at a completely new QB this time next year.

QB are untouched in camp easy to sit in that pocket knowing you will not be hit.

I do not have an issue with what he said, "I feel like I'm the best quarterback in the league, and I have to go out and show that." Its up to him to show it. If you were an owner would like guy that says that or says,"nope I suck I should be benched." Would you prefer him to be humble, sure, but that really is not in the QB playbook.

Yeah but say something different.... "I feel like I can play with the best QBs in the league"... Not imam the best in the league.... There are 4-5 elite QBs in the league.... Not good or great.... But elite.

It is not what he says he is how he plays that is the issue. His play speaks volumes

I remember last year be threw a ball to a wide open receiver and flat out missed him (10 yards or less away) the receiver looked back and looked at him like, "really, couldn't even make that throw"? I lol'd

No he's not.

I am.

No. I am.

Like I said, it's motivational talk. He pretty much admitted in the full quote that he is not the best in the league.

That's not motivational talk, it's just stupid talk that he thinks people want to hear. I could claim that I am the strongest guy in the gym, that doesn't demonstrate my confidence nor does it motivate me to be better. It's cheap Hollow words and that's it.

This also goes for Cousins and McCoy, Griffin isn't the only QB not being touched. And he has thrown more touchdowns, less INTs, and less incompletions than the other two. Again, that doesn't mean he's going to have a good season, but I think he will be better than Cousins, who is an INT machine, and McCoy, who is extremely limited in the skill department.

If you followed up your statement of being the strongest guy in the gym by admitting you haven't proven to lift more than the guy on the bench, but your goal is to achieve that. Then, like Griffin stated, it's motivational talk. The only stupidity being displayed is when people take part of a quote and base their entire understanding of his statement off a third of what he said.

Wrong. If I said I am working hard to be the strongest guy in the gym and hopefully my work will pay off, is motivational. Saying I am the strongest when I'm obviously not speaks nothing of my competitiveness, confidence or motivating myself because I know and the gym knows that absolutely not true. That is the exact same thing with RGIII's statement. He knows it, as well as every single player, coach, owner, media person and fan, knows that his statement is false. No matter how hard he is working.

His goal this year = ordinary

I Robert Griffin III is the best QB in the NFL
He Robert Griffin III is the best QB in the NFL
I am the best QB in the NFL

Repeat ad nauseam..................

When Tiger Woods was the best did he ever remind anyone about that? ;)

This is one of those things if it's not obvious and you say it, you're not.

When Shaq was the best player in the NBA he let people know it, so did Kobe, so does Lebron. Whether its true or not is besides the point, if your quarterback does not have that aspiration and confidence no matter how talented he already lost. I will take a cocky QB over an Aw Shucks type but he better put when it comes time. Right now RG3 has the issue with the later.

Flacco never got this much abuse when he said something similar a few years back even before he won the SB.

NIB really has to contort himself on this one.

It was a stupid thing to say but then RG3 does that regularly doesn't he?

How do you compare three players who were arguably the best player in the game at the time to a QB that claims he is the best in the NFL yet, ranks somewhere around 26th on the league. What he stated was not being cocky it was to say hey everyone look at me I have confidence see what I said, see. The fact that skins fans are on 150 page debate on who the starting QB should be between RGIII and Cousins and McCoy....and stating that he is finally learning to go through his progressions and learning to read a defense....and finally get this how to be an ordinary basic QB (not that just screams I am the best QB in the league).

OMG

You can't put RGIII's name with those guys. They played great, were/are great ... are hall of famers.

This guy might go down as one of the biggest busts in nfl history.
He maybe on another best year... Out of the league in two years.

It pains me to see a player loved in Baylor in a Commanders uniform.
That is the sole reason I wish failure on him.

The only thing I'm going to blame Griffin for is his complete lack of understanding the media. They have taken his comments out of context so much in these last three years, there is no excuse for him to say what he said and not expect this type of reaction. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with his statement, he just can't say that to the media because they'll twist his meaning and use it against him. And it's happened so many times there is just no excuse for not learning from your mistakes.

If a girl is dating a guy and he keeps cheating on her, yet she keeps trusting him....it's her own fault for not learning from her mistakes. Robert, at this point knows who the media is and what the media does. And he proved at the end of last season when he stopped talking to the media that he knew they will twist his words to generate drama. So why continue giving them ammunition? Just do a Bill Belichick and answer every question yes and no.

Like I said I have no issue with someone speaking with confidence and putting the onus on themselves to live up to the talk.

I still agree with you, I see nothing wrong with his statement. He just can't be honest with the media, they'll burn him every time.
