The only thing I'm going to blame Griffin for is his complete lack of understanding the media.

Really? That is the only thing re: Griffin

Not his failure as QB to learn the system, to obey his coach, to not alienate himself from his teammates.

Wow.

I do not have an issue with what he said, "I feel like I'm the best quarterback in the league, and I have to go out and show that." Its up to him to show it. If you were an owner would like guy that says that or says,"nope I suck I should be benched." Would you prefer him to be humble, sure, but that really is not in the QB playbook.

exactly, .....but the smart thing would be to say nothing.
RG played good till he got hurt, and he got hurt because he was not smart enough to slide all the time, and not take the hits when he runs.
He has never got back to where he was.
He isnt a typical nfl qb, he needs to run a offense designed for him, not make him fit in a offense a coach wants to run.
That is part of the problem.

Yes, true but he is in the NFL and no matter what coach gets brought in he will not 100% comfort. Part of the issue is the HS and colleges dumb down the game for these kids and they do not have the fundamentals at the next level. I am willing to bet RG3 was allowed to freelance in HS and college. Coach didn't care unless it was bad play.

your right but they drafted him, and paid a lot for him so the smart thing is to design a offense specifically for him.
otherwise they just wasted what they gave for him.
SF should do the same for their qb, seattle does do that with wilson, they dont try to make wilson a pocket passer.

Shanahan as right. I will go with 2 time Super Bowl winning coach over the "ordinary diva" .... Any and every day.

"There's guys in this league that have done way more than me. But I still view myself as the best because that's what I work toward every single day."
There are not enough days left in your playing career to get there.

None of my friends are talking about Washington.

Last year it was RGKnee was going to reignite his career. Take them to the house.

No FB chatter, at all this year.

I think they finally realize the guy is just an outstanding athlete, not an NFL QB.

This also goes for Cousins and McCoy, Griffin isn't the only QB not being touched. And he has thrown more touchdowns, less INTs, and less incompletions than the other two. Again, that doesn't mean he's going to have a good season, but I think he will be better than Cousins, who is an INT machine, and McCoy, who is extremely limited in the skill department.

we will see what your coaches think, plan from day 1 has been for RGIII to be the man he has failed to live up to it. Then again it is a Commander problem

This is the real issue here. When you are the overall #2 pick in a draft that a team spent 3 first round and 1 second round picks on, in your 4th season you shouldn't be in an open competition with two backup QBs for the starting spot. Your coach shouldn't be asking you to just be "ordinary". Fans shouldn't be marvelling that he was able to make it to his second and third read on a play and that he actually stepped up in the pocket to complete a pass. It really doesn't matter what he says (or doesn't say), it's what he doesn't (or can't) do for a player of his pedigree...especially going into his fourth year in the league.

True but then at this stage where you were drafted means little. What is done is done now if he is better than the other QB's on the team he will play if not I don't think a HC is going to put his future in the hands of a poor QB if he has better options to go to.

He will have already been humbled by the time we play them again. Colt McCoy will take his job at some point in the season.

As if you didn't know we weren't talking about his specific comments and not his entire career. But hey, any chance to insult the guy is a good one, right?
