Wow. He is scary good but I think he has some knee issues. NE always seems to get a high rate of return for declining players at just the right time.

If true Wow. Seymour is a good player, but Oakland will suck again next year and the patriots could easily have a top 6 pick next year. Not a good trade for Oakland at all.

What else is new?

New England rapes the Raiders on a regular basis.

The Commissioner needs to step in and stop the carnage already!

Just said the same thing on BSPN.

Who are the Oakland Patriots? That is what Adam Shefter(sp) just called them.

Oakland did this trade for their 2011 first round pick. But yet Seymour only has one year left on his current contract. So by the time the 2011 season starts, the Raiders could have neither to show for it. That is why they are the Raiders.

The rich just keep getting richer. They get a first round pick for an 8 year veteran on the downside of his career with some health questions.

And the Cowboys got what for Greg Ellis?

I have to admit that this took me completley by surprised, but my first reaction was that I don't know his contract status off hand, which I am sure is a big factor.

Sure enough, it seems both Seymour and Wilfork are going to be free agents after this year and they really could only plan to keep one of them. So, obviously, they've put their eggs in Wilfork's basket and decided to get what they could for Seymour.

I agree with what Florio said on PFT. If the Raiders made this trade without already securing Wilfork to a long term deal, then that is probably the bonehead move of all time.

Eventually, with all those high picks, the Raiders will almost have to be good. I don't see how even they could screw that up.

IMO... that's so the Pats can draft Brady's replacement.
Tom Brady has at least 5 good years ahead of him, and he has indicated he wants to play even longer than that. I don't think the Patriots are quite at the point where they are preparing for his successor.

I also think NE is going back to the 4-3 as early as next year. This just shows why the Pats are always a half a step in front of most franchises and why Oakland is always 1.5 steps behind.

Steal for the Pats. AGAIN!

Moss for a 4th and Seymour for a first. Brilliant.

Don't forget as well that by 2011 there is likely going to be a salary cap for rookies. Oakland and Al are ********.

This is for a 2011 1st, not 2010, so Brady will have played 2 seasons before this pick happens. Based on your opinion, Brady would have 3 years left, seems like a good time to pick a QB and groom him to me.

*sigh*

Why didn't we try and get a 2nd from them for Greg?

To be fair, the Patriots didn't do something ignorant like announce that they were trying to trade Seymour in advance therefore making his value nil on the trade market.
