Fisher says on twitter that the Cowboys now see him as a possible DE. I didn't see this anywhere coming from the Cowboys. Anyone have more info?

The Mothership lists Suave at 6-8, 290.

He's a big 'un and I did give a moment's thought to possibly converting him to OT.

But the rookie was issued #80, that will change if the team decides DE is the route to go.

Seems too tall for a DE. Shawn oakman had a tough time getting the right bend and lacking the agility to change directions quickly enough to beat a good tackle one on one.
But hey, Rod has forgotten more about DLine strategy than I will ever know. So I could easily be wrong.

He could play TE, OL, or DL...

I question him playing D End since Marinelli has stated he doesn't prefer tall D linemen.

So he sounds like a practice squad candidate by every means and can be taken by any other team. If we are at all interested that mean we need to keep him on the 53 man rosters to develop him. It'll be really hard for me to see other better players get cut while we "try" to develop him.
Even though we get first chance to look at him but there's a big opportunity cost to keep him on the roster if we plan to see it through.

Tall DL often have issues winning the leverage battle.

Rico Gathers would also probably project better as a 5Tech DE in a 3-4 instead of Marinelli's 4-3.

Sure just pencil him at all the NFl positions to groom towards.

stephen jones was being interviewed by a scout that covers nfl, the guy said that rico looked like a de, stephen said that they would look at rico at TE first, but if things didnt work out, might try him out a DE. Remember the cowboys did that with efe. As far as being to tall, Too Tall Jones was 6-9 and played DE well. I think rico is actually 6-7, so if things dont work out for him at TE, then De maybe. But with his basketball skills, I think Rico will be our next great TE after witten retires.

Also, we all know how well Gronk is at TE for new england, Rico will be even more of a monster at TE

He's said to have good footwork for a guy his size. I wonder how he projects to Tackle?

That's the real question, if he has strength, he might be a Parnell type development project. That said it took Parnell 3 years to really be ready to play in the NFL.

But will he take a piece of your pie and say bye?

One of his best attributes is his natural hands. He catches very smoothly. Moving him from TE to DE would nullify that.

Like Stephen says, try him at TE first and if that fails for whatever reason... then just go from there.

The team site just takes a roster from college or nfl sites. So that was likely what Baylor listed for him in basketball. He was listed at 6-7 barefoot at the us pan am team according to draftexpress. Some of the twitter info said he was dropping weight into the 270s. 6-6 and change to 6-7 is a good bet.

NOLA Article
"Right now I have him working with a dietitian to help him lose around 15 pounds by April 21st for his combine at Tad Gormley," Rousse said.
