Rico can't be on the 53, but how can you not put him on the PS? He's exactly who should be in one of those spots.

Practice squad was a given, that catch might tweak another team but he is still raw and the 2016 boys have no room.

I think he makes it to the PS, Dallas knew coming in that he was a project. I think he has the athletic ability to play this game he just needs to gain experience

Stephen Jones said, right after the draft. And to me, this is a stupid way to draft.
This was from his conference call with season ticket holders.

That they usually use the 7th round for project type players, ones injured that slipped, or PS type guys, as it's hard for them to make teams.
But since they did not have any 7th's, they used the 3 6th round picks they had for this.

Hmmm..to me this is insane, why not use those picks for players that can actually possibly make the team and help this year...oh well, it's why we lack depth....

So Brown, Jackson, Gathers are all projects. Looks like Brown will make the team, and if for any reason, by default for lack of better players. Jackson still has not impressed me, but I can see some potential. Gathers was PS all the way.

He is a practice squad guy. We have very limited viewing of him but I hope he makes it to our practice squad and does not sign with another practice squad. I think you need to put that guy under wraps and give him a full year to learn his craft and let him give it a go next camp.

Looking at our tight ends, it sure doesn't appear we have the guy after Witten. Escobar, Hanna and Swain are all depth guys. Gathers due to his athleticism peaks my interest to see what he could be a in year or two.

Brown has stood out in practices and from what I've read, done decent in games thus far. I haven't watched him closely so I can't judge.

I missed him boxing anyone out and a big yard play?

He did show nice athleticism but that was about it. I don't think he is even PS worthy but they will keep him because they used a draft pick on him.

based on what? did you expect him to come in and dominate? they used a pick on him because they liked his potential. not for this year, but for the future. someone will quickly nab him if you try and stash him on the PS. nothing he's done justifies being cut. he was always going to be a long-term project.

Rico is ideal for the practice squad.
Still scratching my head a bit on why used a 6th though. Seemed like the classic UDFA
The good news is, as far away as he is from being an NFL player, the coaches say he's made huge strides. Maybe the upward arc gets him to the final 53 and more someday.

Nobody took Leary when he was on the PS. I think Rico will make it to the PS and late in the season be elevated to the 53-man roster. There is something there. Not starter material yet but potential. Also, he could easily put on 25-30 pounds and not lose any speed. He will be dangerous when he learns how to block. Good luck to him and I hope the Cowboys slide him to the PS and no team takes a flyer on him and steals him away.

Needs a year on the practice squad, and that's okay. Players are allowed to be developed.

I don't recall but how is Rico compared to where Gates was @ this point in his career? Obviously, I don't follow the bolts so my memory of Gates only goes back to him catching 5 tds per game and wearing out any LB whom tried to cover him.
