For the moment, it doesnt matter who the QB is.

The defense is playing almost great, the O-line is dominating anyone and everyone, and zeke is leading the league.

Put sanchez in...we still win.

For now.

In the regular season, thats all well and good. But what if a major injury strikes? Or what about those games where nothing goes right?

Its only one game in the regular season, whatever, but if we make the playoffs, that move is life or death.

We arent always going to get career worst underperforming rodgers to go against. And we arent always going to be against very poor secondaries.

Do you want to wait for a poor first half in a playoff game or a major injury to cross your fingers that the guy ranked 21st in yards per game is putting up is going to bail you out? The guy ranked down there with case keenum, and brock osweiler?

Well then the talking heads are saying you switch to Romo off the bench and hope he comes in and saves the day after being slapped in the face

This is a great post really though. The QB is almost interchangeable right now because of the level the running game and defense is playing. Beasley is also converting on a ton of short passes.

We could also have a normal tackle take out the vet QB that's been taking 1st reps for that playoff game and think to ourselves "This is definitely the time we get the message."

If we're down 21 in the playoffs, then im not fine with Romo being in either

I have zero issue with Tony being in. He's come back from 21, heck he's been the QB when we won with 5 turnovers given up.

He went toe-to-toe with Peyton manning for 50 points.

That situation is NOT the time to test a rookie qb who isnt putting up a ton of ypg and having to save the team.

Those 5 turnovers were all on him, and it wasnt even against a playoff team, and it was also 9 years ago. He went toe to toe with then threw the game ending interception

Tony doesn't have my confidence in win or go home games

Make no mistake I love Romo. I loved White too. Doesn't mean I can't be pragmatic about the future. 2 playoff wins doesn't buy eternal loyalty.

The only concern I have about Romo is health. If we put him back in and he gets hurt again that might take away some momentum. But there isn't anything Dak is doing that Romo can't do. (he wouldn't run like Dak, but can make some reads/throws Dak can't yet) We'd still be 5-1 either way if a healthy Romo was playing. Big question is can he actually play the game, take hits and not get hurt?

I'm ok with questioning that...thats why you have dak 50 feet away at all times.

I'm fine with keeping the momentum and Dak as the starter after the bye week.

But I think the records would be
Dak__5-1
Romo__5-1 or 6-0
Sanchez__4-2

That's how dominant the run game and protection have been.
The defense getting all of these turnovers is nice too...more like 2014.

5-1 feels real good

yup. My main concern is by not playing tony at all (if they keep with dak) come the time we need to bench dak for whatever reason, we're going to get rusty tony and then everyone is going to start all over again blaming one of the best ranked career qb's of all time.

I agree that both these QBs can play and play at a high level. The open question for me with Dak was whether or not he can beat the other competitive teams in the NFC that we'd eventually be seeing if we keep winning football games. Yesterday was a big step in proving that. Beating PHI coming out of the bye would be another step. If he does that, too, then the team really has a decision to make. And really, the tie should go to the rookie in this case because 1, he got them there and keeping him in place doesn't (likely) disrupt the chemistry and 2, he can still get better by season's end. Romo won't like it, but he'll be a team player in the end.

If Dak falters (and at this point I think it's pretty unlikely he does), then you put Tony back end because you know he won't. If that doesn't happen, though, I have a hard time justifying making a change at 6-1 riding a 6 game winning streak at the most important position on the field.

I dont think we've played a team yet that is playing like what we would see in the playoffs. That is my concern.

Like I asked in another thread, in 2008, Matt Cassel went 11-5...so I guess had they made the playoffs and tom been healed, you still go with cassel? lol. You always field your best players until they prove they arent the best. Tony AT LEAST deserves 2 games to show he's better than Dak.
