KC is going to take less than market value to trade down for and try to collect as many picks as possible. Remember how much Andy Reid loved to trade down and collect picks in Philly? They were rivaled only by New England in stock piling picks. Andy Reid loves everything about the draft and the draft process, and he loves finding mid and late round guys.

Only problem is that they have to find someone whos actually willing to trade up for the #1 pick. Does any team really want Geno that bad? And a team in the top 10 who needs a LT will probably be content with just waiting for Fisher or Johnson rather than giving up a package of picks for Joeckel. Im sure Reid will want to get out of #1 but finding a trade partner will be difficult I think.

A cheaper more realistic option that I like is Gosder Cherilus. Nothing spectacular, but solid and relatively cheap. The Lions still have Backus at LT and just drafted Riley Rieff so Cherilus could very well be let go. Should cost less than 5M per year so won't break the bank either

No way.

Cherilus is a punchline in Detroit.

If Reid is offering a discount price, someone in the Top 5-6 picks will take him up on the offer. Geno is the only QB worth drafting in the 1st round. There's only one truly elite CB in the draft. I think there is a pretty sizable dropoff between Floyd and the rest of the interior DTs. Patterson is the only elite WR in the draft. etc. The #1 pick will probably be a beauty in the eye of the beholder pick, but someone will be willing to move up to ensure that they get their preferred guy at their specific position of need and not leave things to chance. I'm betting Reid has already gotten a few nibbles on some feelers.
