No Cowboy more deserving that Harvey Martin. Greatest passrusher the club ever had. Forget about the off field business...if Haley is included then Harvey should be.He was a career Cowboy.

As I recall, Harvey Martin began his career with the C'boys playing in a far less aggressive way than he did later. When Ernie Stautner pulled him aside one day and told him that he needed to be "meaner, more aggressive and less timid," the transformation was about as dramatic as that of Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. Harvey started clubbing opponents with head slaps, forearm smashes, body slams and everything else aimed at doing a maximum degree of damage. From then on, he never heard anything vaguely reminiscent of "not being mean enough" again.

Yep. Martin was a favourite. He would clobber a QB and just get up and walk back to the huddle. No phony celebrations. Very intimidating.

Absolutely -- his specialty for QBs was a roundhouse forearm to the neck and it wasn't anything gentle, either! I guess many of us saw those QBs, lying on the ground in extreme pain, while he calmly walked away (as if it was just another day at the office.) He was devastating! Enough to make an onlooker wince, and then smile widely, actually. Of course, he'd likely be fined mercilessly for many thousands, nowadays, though.
