Ring Side Seats - Defense

The gimmick of "ring side seats" is that I'm debating with myself. In an attempt to sell the distinction between the 3 identities, I use several oversell devices to persuade, much like "balled out.". At the same time, when both were on the field, that's not too much of an embellishment...they played well.

Too late; I've already bought in. But remember the realist in me gets the big picture; they could be the best team football has ever seen, and still not win a Super Bowl.

Really enjoyed Reading this as your wit and witticism are not overlooked on my end ,I get a kick if not downright LoL with your singularly Unique Style and prose (I.e. you wield a pretty good pen there,pilgrim.)
Your " myself/ pessimist persona" should be in reverse gear by game 6 and in full retreat mode by mid season game 8 as I'm predicting steady improvement with this defense from week #1 exponentially gaining and growing game by game week by week till the defensive unit cohesion is salty brash and bold ,completely shutting down opposing offense's ability to even stay on the field(3 in out) I see these new players showing up with a hell of a lot more confidence in their capabilities than what their predecessors showed up with.

No disrespect intended to your Alma mater, but I suspect it's put up or shut up for the both of them this season.

None taken, I agree with that completely. They both need to have stellar years or they will be gone.

Again, all good points made here.

I'm pretty excited about the defense for once because there are intriguing young players.

As you mentioned: Taco, Chido, Lewis and possibly Tapper & Jaylon too. But not only them, but think about the potential for growth with Maliek Collins, David Irving and Byron Jones.

9 guys under 25 to start the season that all have upside. Realistically, they're not all going to be studs.

But I like those odds.

Out of the 9 guys, IF 4 can be studs and another 3-4 can be good players, then I would be satisfied.
