For all you RoMac fans and RoMac disbelievers....I won't use the term haters......

This articles sheds some about his play lately.

A highlight....for the last 3 games, he has come off the field for 8 plays out of 182.
queue the...where is the big plays crowd...
well, he must be doing what is asked of him pretty good to stay on the field.
He does have a sack and a pick 6.

I really hope the resign him. Lee and McClain looking to make a pretty good duo at LB

The big challenge with McClain is getting him to stay out of trouble and stay motivated to do this from the start of the year instead of having to work himself healthy and in shape. He's a very talented player, but that talent doesn't do us any good if he gets himself suspended or doesn't put in the work needed to get ready for the start of the season.

Now, I acknowledge that he had some injuries that were limiting him before the season, but it's been made clear in his years in the league that he also does not like to practice. If he wasn't so talented, he couldn't get by until working himself up to the point he's at now. We could use the player we're seeing right now from the start.

Great points. Ro is a great talent...but can't be trusted to be there for 16 games. Not worth the risk to me. Move on after this season

The thing is, we need him for 800 plays over 16 games, which he hasn't been able to do. When he's healthy and in shape, he's a load to deal with. The question really is: Can he be counted on to stay out of trouble and to be injury free? If you think he can, sign him, no question.

They need to show the play where Lee made a good tackle, but McClain absolutely trucked the WR trying to crack block him. That should be a gif.

Anyway, he's a lot like Lee in the issue is whether or not we can depend on him. I think he's more durable than Lee, but he's just 1 more positive test from being suspended a long time.

As far as making big plays, that's not always the job of the MIKE LB in a 4-3 and often times he's not put in that position. The general consensus was to have McClain at the MIKE so Lee can roam around more freely in the WILL and that would keep him healthy and allow him to make plays.

Even Bobby Wagner has not made much plays this year. He has 0.5 sacks, 0 INT's and 1 forced fumble and he has played all 11 games and has been healthy.

Yeah, it's great that he's rounding into form now, but this D could have really used his A game when we were floundering through all those losses.

I think he's talented enough that we should attempt to sign him to another minor deal. In Hitchens, we have a linebacker able to fill in when McClain can't go, but McClain is the better player.

Playing well, yes.

But cut him in February.

The guy is one toke from a year suspension. How do you feel about that likelihood?

Can't risk it.

What bothers me was that he chose to rehab away from the team during the offseason. That decision, apparently, backfired...he came in needing a lot more rehab time (not to mention being overweight) than he would have had he been with the team. Then add to that his apparent enjoyment to smoke the stuff that gets you suspended...just doesn't give me a lot of confidence in his availability in the future. If you could convince me that he can abide by NFL rules and take his profession seriously, then I would have no problem resigning him.

Ro has found a home. It's not like we are paying him some huge contract either. Outside of Romo he's actually my favorite player because he just an athletic freak of nature. People do not understand how big he really is to be playing MLB. He's the same size as Ware!

Many players around the NFL rehab away from teams.
But guess only Ro is criticized about it.
But look who we have as the strength and conditioning in charge of the rehab. He hasn't had a stellar record of keeping players healthy here.
So maybe Ro knows better than us internet doctor / GM types....

There aren't many who would argue against his athleticism and talent. His reliability is what is questionable. He's a great acquisition under the right contract.

Not any more unreliable than Lee with his injuries. In fact he's probably more reliable.

I am not saying I know better...I obviously don't. What I am saying is that it sure looked to me (again, not saying I have all the answers) that the rehab route he chose sure didn't seem to be successful. The issue I have is that he came in looking as though he had little/no professional help in his rehab. If I'm wrong about what I perceive, then I have no problem changing my tune. And I would criticize any professional athlete that chooses to rehab on their own over rehabbing with their team if they came in looking as though they hadn't rehabbed at all. If I'm not mistaken, he only had a knee scope...not a major procedure...but came in looking as though he was recovering from ACL surgery. All that said, he's a great talent when healthy and available and I'm certainly glad he's on our roster.

We have to find a way to keep him in Dallas during the off season. He needs to be more prepared for week 1 next season.

Except that I don't recall smoking weed as being one of the reasons Lee hasn't been available. Add to that, Lee's contract is structured in a way that protects the team if he misses significant time. Give Ro the same type of contract and I'm good with it.

Lee and Ro is the best LB duo you can't rely on in the league. You can count on 16 games/yr combined between the 2 of them whether it be suspension or injury. Need to add depth here.

I knew what you meant. my comment was for all of us in the non team in the know type way, including myself. Guess I should have worded it better.
Maybe his knee procedure was more than what they let on. So I agree, if it was, then he should have been here for rehab.
last I read it was a minor scope procedure as you said, which too me was why he chose to rehab away from the team.

But it could have been more too, like an ACL type deal, as long as it took for him to return. Maybe his suspension had something to do with him being away too. Just seems a long time for a knee scope. Those can be what, 2 to 6 week type things?

Anyway, he is back, looks back in game shape and is making plays.
