Robert Saleh finalizing Head Coach role with Titans

Why they ever got rid of Vrabel, … should have just let him work and get a great OC..

We’ll see about Saleh, the Jets are not a good barometer to use .. no one succeeds there.
Yeah, I always thought the Titans’ front office was wrong to push Vrabel out. He did the best he could with the quarterbacks he was given. I mean, he took Tannehill to an AFC Championship game.

We will see how this works out for them. I'm kind of indifferent on Saleh. Didn't do great in NY, but seemed like a decent coach through the lens of Hard Knocks. Time will tell.

im surprised with their young developing QB, they didnt go with an offense guy
I still think best HC for a young QB is a defensive coach who likes to run the ball. It puts less pressure on the QB and allows the QB to develop.

Tennessee hired the guy we should have hired last offseason as the Cowboys head coach. The rivalry with Tennessee and Jacksonville will be must see television.

he was overrated, in his good years at SF they had alot of talent that made him look good.
I could be wrong , guess we will see.
Keep in mind Tenn fired Vrabel who is now in the champ game.....

I know it’s a HC job, but the Titans are in a worse spot than the Jets were — even before Rodgers.

Surprised Saleh took the role.

Maybe he thinks Cam Ward can lead them out of the wilderness. They gave up on Treylon Burks but he may end up a dynamite target for Daniels in Wash

Selah will be fired in 2 years. Not a good head coach. IMO. Kissing AR's butt in hard knocks showed me all I needed to see of him. He and AR should have got a room.

No way we have those defensive issues with him coaching

Nobody looks good with the Jets. I’m surprised spags with the chiefs isn’t spoken of more. Yea he had a rough first outing with the giants but he turned the chiefs defense around

He will do great, Jets made a mistake letting him go as we can see. A leader of men and a great football mind. He is a good teacher. Wish jerry would have hired him to fix the leaky defense at dallas.

I am still trying to figure out how San Francisco made the playoffs with that no name defense. The Cowboys had a good defensive line and had the worst defense in football. The 49ers had nobody and shut the Eagles down in Philly.

Maybe that is the issue - our guys are legends in our own minds? Other than Quinnen Williams, do we really have a legit stud on Defense? The media does a great job making Cowboys players look better than they really are. The Kool Aid is strong, apparantly takes many years to water down. We can blame coaches and or ownership all we want, but once the whistle blows, the players still gotta block, run, catch and tackle. That's mostly on the players.

Good defensive line?

We had our fewest sacks in over a decade and were unable to apply any pressure to the QB.

Also, people think Quennin somehow came in and shut down opponents runners. We still had tenth worse rush defense in the league. It got better but it wasn’t a wall.

Bottom line, our defensive talent is so bad, due to years of poor drafting and minimal free agent decision makjng, that the entire unit is barely functional.

I don’t think Belichik could have made this a top 15 defense.

Notice how Robert Saleh is always referred to by his full name. It's not "Robert", it's not "Saleh", it's always "Robert Saleh". Some pundit pointed that out, and now I can't un-see it.

Anyway, Robert Saleh has always called a good defense. Every season, he gets his defense playing at or a little above their talent level, and he's done it so many times in so many different stops that it's beyond question. He's one of the best DCs in the league, and since he has all the alibis in the world from his Jets stint, he was due for another HC opportunity.

The Titans are a pretty dismal job - you have a young, rookie-contract QB in place, but that young QB doesn't look very good, and the rest of the roster is a dumpster fire. The AFC South is a suddenly competitive place... Indy is hard to buy into after their midseason collapse, but Houston and Jacksonville have built some legit cores, and are going to keep contending. Frankly, Tennessee is going to lose a lot of games next year. Cam Ward's development will basically determine whether or not they launch another rebuild to replace their last failed rebuild, Browns style.

Blasphemy!!!!! You didn’t read the threads that said the Cowboys won the Parsons trade and Jerry should get a medal of honors for the trades he made midseason. By golly we stopped the run.:huh:

Hopefully the Titans are less of a sheep show than the Jets. I like Saleh, really good DC.
