I just saw it on NFLN. He's a Cowboy hater but he's given us some love where it's due. Ranked Ware as #1 edge rusher also.

He's got some credibilty at that position...

Discuss, Newman haters..

When healthy, yes. He really needs to improve his hands.

I saw that on the early show. Frankly it surprised me given how much of a Cowboy hater Woodson is. Just goes to show how much he is respected around the league I suppose.

Deion Sanders also knows a thing or two about playing CB.

He had DeAngelo Hall as one of the best CBs in football a couple years back.

Point being: Not every former football player is a good evaluator of talent. No idea if Woodson is or isn't.

When TNew has been healthy, as many have said, i see him as a top 10 CB in the NFL, but he has been gimped some in recent years.

I think the difference is that Deion is known for propping up his buddies/followers. So his judgment is clouded imo.

Deion used to be a dancing clown when he played. Now, he's nothing but a racist, loudmouth clown.

no he doesn't, it would be nice, but he doesn't need to improve anywhere, he is a great player.

I agree with the latter (he was insufferable during the Ravens game last December), but how is he a racist?

Here is the link. Thanks, Slate. You just made my day.

I applaud Rod Woodson for putting together a great list and a list that is tough to argue with. I really like that list, and I agree with his chosen players.. I think he has the players dead on right. Woodson has the exact same top 5 players that the 2009 Pro Football Weekly survey had. He just has them in a little different order. Woodson is a Hall of Fame CB himself, so he knows the nature of that position and the game.

Click the link if you want to see Newman getting physical with Santana Moss and taking his lunch money. See Deion Branch get his, too. Samuel was running good in that clip, too. Asomugha, Revis, Bailey... You will see them doing their thing, too.

The Jets are looking very smart, because they moved up from 25 to 14 and took Revis. These guys are hard to come by, and when you get your hands on one, you keep him. That is why they get big money, and that is why the Jets moved up. Also, that is why Clinton Portis is in Washington.

The Cowboys small move up for Mike Jenkins was shrewd, too.

DeAngelo Hall and Pacman Jones were once given superlative laiden endorsements from the hyperbole prone lips of Mr. Sanders, both are gong to be lucky to have careers next season.

The only other corner he fawned over met a devastating career demise, Gary Baxter, what a spectacularly painful injury he endured to end his playing career, can't help but hurt him.

In conclusion if Sanders remains mum on a player he tends to have a better career.

The Newman subject is beatin to death.

Some people realise his skills and how taking out a top receiver in a game is so important.

Some people think that aspect is fine and good but to be "elite" you need more picks.

Blah blah blah. It is what it is.
