This is the man who's going to hear Brady's appeal?

I just hate how the Patriots can go scorched earth on the league yet still get this type of love from the commish but when Jerry consistently takes the classy high road, we still end up getting screwed left and right.

If the suspension stays four games I won't complain. Hardys better drop, ten seems crazy after sitting out all of last year.

Schefter tweeted last night that NE and the NFL are having backroom conversations about the penalty levied by Goodell. I bet Brady doesn't sit any games while Hardy sits for 10 games. SMH.

Goodell & his buddy Mara are going to make an example of Hardy the law & press by dammed.
Advertisers don't care much about deflategate because it's not much of a social issue but Hardy
crossed the media political correctness line and women are the biggest spenders for advertisers.
This whole thing is about perception and money and the courts will have their say though
Goodell will find a way to keep Hardy on the sidelines me thinks!

As long as the NFL money machine keeps printing cash 24/7 he is their guy. Screw that up in any way, he'll be shown the door so fast his head will spin.

Whether the league recognizes it or not yet, they are taking on body blows this last 18 months. When it actually becomes a problem, it's going to come like a freight train. They better react before that happens, because they're playing with fire right now.

you gomers really do not get it. Goodell cannot show any give or he really is toast in the minds of the OTHER owners. And guess what for those that cannot count, that means 31 to 1.

Might not be a bad thing. The season hits a critical point, Dallas is 8-2, and they add a major impact pass rusher who is fresh as a daisy right before the playoffs.

But I think it's going to be reduced to 4-6 games.

Off with Goodell's Head!
If anyone should be blamed for the arrangement, it should be the NFLPA. They agreed on the Commissioner to have sole discretion in the appeals process. It would be wise of them to revise that provision in the next CBA.

Shouldn't they finish up with Hardy before taking on the Brady appeal? Peterson had to wait forever for his, but watch them fast-track Brady through the process.
Hey when you bestys with Roger - no worries.

And the hard core fans of football.
He gives in and the game takes another black eye to go with the Brady cheating.

You are correct. Goodell has drawn a line in the sand and he's going to the mats to make sure Hardy pays for
his perceived sins even if he has to go the Federal Appeals Courts. He can keep Hardy out all year if he wants to push
it that far and I think Hardy is going to be his scapegoat for all NFL ills so Gregory better come on fast.

I somewhat hope Brady would sue the League over his suspension. Real evidence would determine his innocence or guilt in Deflategate if he does.

Wells asked Brady for his cellphone to look at his text messages. Brady did not comply. He wasn't legally obligated to do so. He does not need to present his cellphone if he makes it a legal issue either. The court can subpoena his text message history directly from his cellular provider without his permission.

Intentional tampering evidence would solidify or weaken the NFL's position on suspending Brady. My guess is that it would be the former.

IIRC, there was an article, posted around when the CBA deal was being discussed, about the levels of ownership in the NFL. How some get more say/power than other owners. I would venture to say some are buddies with Kraft, regardless of this latest blackeye for the Pats, and as long as the money comes in they don't care about the actual product.

Actually, it seems to me Brady and Kraft have Goodell backed up into a corner with the threat of Brady's lawsuit because Goodell has no evidence to support the allegations being thrown at Brady and the Patriots. Goodell should just drop the whole thing and admit the NFL bumbled its way into this with zero preparation and an alarming lack of fairness. But, he has to try to save face after allowing these unsupported charges to go on for so long, so he's going to be trying to work out something with the Pats that the public will accept and believe to be fair. I personally think Goodell should just resign because he seems to have no sense of what is or isn't fair and I don't think the NFL needs a separate judicial system anyway. I think preventing players from earning a living is the exact opposite of what is needed to encourage them to be good citizens. That is why our parole system wants an individual to have a job before they let him out of prison, IMO.

the east coast bias in the NFL is pretty ridiculous and they dont make any effort to cover it up or anything. its just deal with it.

If you had said Northeast NFL football you would have it just right. Those Northeast Big City Teams control the NFL.
