Well, if not overturned, schedule the 18 days on Nov 3rd. That way, he comes back for the Giants game and will only miss the Jaguars :D

He could probably appeal all the way to the Alabama Supreme Court which might take 6 to 9 months. He might also take to the Federal Courts
and try to prove "racial profiling" by these local cops.

I know, that was in jest.

He should have hired a better legal team to represent him in Alabama...

That judge is definately a fan of another team. LOL
Jerry should sue for team discrimination. :D

I'm sure it will be delayed for a while, then if not overturned, the 18 days can be served after the season. Like starting a few days after the SB. :D

The appeal goes to a jury trial. From what I've read the lawyers think this is easily dismissed by a jury. Judge should have fined him like expected and moved on.

I'm taken aback a bit by the 18-day sentence. Really expected a fine and possibly probation for such ticky-tack offenses. Gotta assume his record of previous offenses certainly didn't stand him in good stead, though. At least, the appeal will delay things.

Maybe a judge is trying to make a name for himself...a NFL player, on the Cowboys....gets attention.

Mona Lisa Vito: What name did you tell him?

Vinny Gambini: Jerry Gallo.

Mona Lisa Vito: Jerry Gallo! The big attorney.

Vinny Gambini: Yeah.

Mona Lisa Vito: Think that was a smart move?

Vinny Gambini: Yeah, well, the man's a seriously accomplished lawyer. If he checks up on this guy, his name will come up all over the place.

Mona Lisa Vito: His name was in the papers all last week.

Vinny Gambini: Yeah, I saw that.

Mona Lisa Vito: But you didn't actually read the articles.

Vinny Gambini: No

Mona Lisa Vito: Too bad.

Vinny Gambini: Why's that?

Mona Lisa Vito: 'Cause he's dead.

One of my favorite films.

Oh well.. he will work his way through the legal process just like everyone else. Fortunately, he'll be able to practice with the team until the appeal.

Defense attorney Harvey Steinberg said McClain would head to Cowboys training camp in Oxnard, Calif., within hours of the trial.
"My attitude is I think I ran into the only person in the entire state of Alabama that would convict Rolando McClain based on this evidence," said Steinberg. "Unfortunately, it happened to be the judge."
