Shefty made seem like this wasn't a new incident. It's the same one as in Feb.

While he is suspended someone should ask him if he wants to go to Colorado and get high...right?

People aren't responsible for having integrity today...unless it's someone else. Then Katie bar the door.

Good thing there are sixteen games in the regular season and this isn't as much a set back as many injuries.

Well this sucks. Oscan did the same thing last season. Oh well, he's still our best LB for 12 games now.

Scandrick last year, and he still had a good year. Let's not over-react....could be something he took trying to recover from knee. A mistake for sure, but why release him? Brinkley will do fine, and McClain will give us a boost and be more likely to stay healthy for a 12 game season.

SMH at the people who have actually been counting on this guy.

Who has been counting on him? Most his supporters knew this about him, and so did the Cowboys.
The Cowboy took a gamble on him because he is a blue-chip player when he's on the field and healthy.
That is the ONLY reason he's still on the roster. But this shouldn't have surprised anyone. The Cowboys have taken this into consideration already, which is why they brought in all those linebackers.
As someone has already said, Ro don't cost that much, and really won't cost that much from here on out. If he wants to play, he'll play for the Cowboys at a salary that is below his talent.
If he doesn't want to, then he'll just exit football. But the Cowboys won't be on the hook paying him an exorbitant amount of money.

This is still a win-win for the Cowboys.
If he comes back and plays up to his capability, you basically have a Ray Lewis in the middle of your defense (yes, he is THAT good).
And you'll put up with him because he really has no leverage but the upside you get from him is tremendous.
If he messes up again, you cut him.

The Cowboys have covered themselves well.

I think we should cut him. Hitchens will do just fine at MLB.

Its not like he was a superstar last year. Had a great start and tailed off quickly by mid season to the point he was basically a JAG. Has made bad decisions, had poor conditioning and erratic play throughout his career.

Two failed drug tests in one offseason? Send a message. Buh bye

I'll give you ten-to-one odds he won't play 12 games.

And I'll give you five-to-one he won't be the best linebacker for the course of the season.

What's the message? That they will tolerate some drug use but not all drug use or crime by different levels of players.

It's best not to have a rigid policy with these things. It will only come back to bite you.

They handled McClain pretty well. They gave him playing time incentives and signed plenty of depth. If he plays and helps then he plays and helps. He did save our bacon last year.

Blah blah blah cut him this cut him that. Stupid. His talent far outweighs what we're paying him. It would be so stupid to cut him. For what?

I wouldn't want the team to release a player for using PED's (if that's the case) because I just assume the majority of players have used them and only a few get caught. Just guessing, of course, but I'd imagine someone has already told him what he did wrong to cause him to get caught.
