He probably doesn't even care too much, since he wasn't getting paid for the first 4 games anyway.

Good point and reminder. I wonder if he loses an additional four game checks now, or just the previous 4 from the fine.

Surprise? No, Disappointment for sure. A player's most important ability is availability. And this guy doesn't have it. Nor does he even seem to want it.

I've read that Brinkley looks better than advertised so my money is on him. I think Hitchens is a candidate for SLB and then the nickel when Brinkley comes off the field.

He's definitely a tradeoff of talent vs dependability.

I was just thinking that whatever the policy is, that part isn't really working.

You can't cut him now. There is no reason to do so. But, I would certainly have a backup plan for this guy at all times.

It's Jasper Brinkley......I think McClain was gonna be in a fight for a job to begin with....Now....He's just making it harder on himself and easier for the coaches to wanna move on.

They usually only test once a year, but once you fail a test and enter the "testing program" they can test you anytime, anyplace all year round. Even failing to make yourself eligible for a test is considered a failed test.

Who are these 'a lot of LBs' that are going to play?

I've been saying... Hitchens and Brinkley are MLB's specifically. With McClain that is 3 that can play in the middle. Dallas has set themselves up about as well as they could to handle injuries (suspension) at LB. I have read a few articles from the media as well on the subject.

It isn't a secret that they have a lot of bodies there.

I hate that he got suspended for being an idiot. However in the same vein it's stupid as hell to suspend players for weed. Ehhh well we're just gonna have to go 4-0 without him and get his boost when he returns in October.

How is it that you think these reactions are knee jerk? This guy has proven over and over and over that he cannot be trusted to make the right decisions. It's not like this came out of left field and all of a sudden people are calling for his head. A four game suspension already means he's been caught by the NFL a few times already.

There's no reason to cut him right now; in fact it would be foolish to do so.

Last year he proved that he can play at a high level in this defense. He can still be a very big contributor to our team this year. Cutting him now does not help us. Training camp hasn't even started.

So yes, anyone calling for him to be cut right now is either acting on a knee jerk reaction , or simply doesn't like the guy for whatever reasons.

Maybe the team will decide to cut ties with him at some point, but that time shouldn't be right now.

National Media has jumped all over this story . They're saying how losing McClain is gonna be such a huge loss for this team like we didn't play without McClain last season or something. You would've thought Romo or Dez got suspended by the way they're reacting. Lol.

Hate to do it because hes good on the field but gotta let him go for depth purposes. When he comes back will he really be into it anymore? Will his heart still be there? Hes a guy that cannot be trusted and that fact is well know. Which is why he comes cheap and took a short contract

I think all things considered they should move on next year. evidently he really don't care much for playing football or it he really don't care much for his teammates or the fans.

Don't you think that they're valid reasons?

Well that's only 2. That's not a lot of bodies. I mean we have even started training camp yet. If we were into the preseason and still had these guys ready to go for the regular season i would feel better but not right now.

I like this attitude. If we do that without him and presumably Hardy, look out. I'll 3-1 at this point.

first Richardson now McClain. The NFL is handing out 4 game suspensions like a going out of business sale. I bet they turn the other cheek with Tom Brady. To busy kissing his rings to punish him.

I think we are seeing the reason why we went on a linebacker signing spree in FA. The FO wanted to make sure they had enough quality LBs in case Ro did something stupid/Lee got injured.

I see no reason to cut him now. He may be a bonehead, but is still productive on the field and isn't a cancer IIRC.

Never knew so many people disliked him.

It isnt about the drug use. Its about the fact that he cant seem to get with the program, and stop shooting himself in the foot. I know he doesnt cost much, but when is it enough already.
