I've never been a fan because he's unreliable. And I think if he's done it twice now as a Cowboy, it's a certainty that he'll do it again. That said, he's still a good enough player that I'd keep a spot for him this season. RKG or not, he's an impact defender on a weak defense. We need him this year.

It was never a question of if this would happen, but when. It's a waste of everyone's time for this guy to be on the roster.

The problem is he is a talented player that makes the defense significantly better when he's on the field.

We have to look at it like this:
We're getting a great linebacker Week 5.
We're getting a Pro Bowl pass rusher hopefully before Week 11.

Hopefully, my guy Keith Rivers can show something and stick around. If not, either Kyle WIlber or Damien Wilson is going to get an opportunity to prove themselves. I don't have a lot of faith in Jasper Brinkley (slow) or Andrew Gachkar (glorified Cameron Lawrence).

Same goes for Hardy. Now Randy Gregory and hopefully Ben Gardner get a baptism by fire. If they establish themselves, along with Lawrence and T. Crawford, getting Greg Hardy is like Christmas.

And no matter what, keep Sean Lee away from MLB.

There's always something with his guy.....getting close to the time to move on, just can't depend on him....always nagging injuries,, house burns down(arson), always legal issues to take care of, now suspension for illegal substance, doesn't recoup from surgery in Dallas....on and on it goes....

This virtually guarantees that he'll be willing to take 1 year deals from us for the rest of his career.

Dude you want more of this? Draft his replacement and be done with him after this year. You have to be a JJ Watt type of talent to deal with his constant issues.

You may discuss the failed drug test, the player, the Cowboys and things football related on topic.

You may not discuss criminal behavior, the effects of weed etc.

Take that stuff to the OT Zone as long as it remains unpolitical there.

The time bomb went off as expected; no surprise here.

Question now is: do the Cowboys allow him to reset and wait for him to go off again?

I'm not losing any sleep over it.

Nor would I cut him.

He may cut himself (through suspensions) but I wouldn't bother at this point.

When his head is screwed on tight he's damn good linebacker. And by getting the 4-gamer he's pretty much ensured his salary demands for any coming seasons are going to be on the low side.

You get what good football you can out of him and take it for what it is.

Constant issues!? The dude balled for us last season after getting off his couch.

This is his first suspension as a Cowboy cuz the guy smokes some reefer and people want his career destroyed? Not only that, but the dude is playing for pennies compared to what he would be worth healthy for 16 games. The Cowboys are going to stick with him at minimal cost until he either crashes and burns or pans out, and a 4 game suspension is routine nowadays in the NFL

Yep. He's too good a player, and our defense is too talent deficient. We have to try to work with him.

But we should remember, too, there's a reason why we were able to get almost two years (we'll see) our of a top-10 player at a huge discount. This is the reason. He costs us a little bit of money. He also costs us in headaches and roster spots. That comes with the dinner when you bring in talented guys who are unreliable. We still need him, though.

The Cowboys have known about this for a while (the possibility of being suspended) and have maintained right along that Lee will play on the weak side.

That's not going to change.

Damn. Im rooting for this guy to get his crap together. But, how many chances do we give him before we say goodbye? I say this is it. All that talent in a pea sized brain. CMON RO!

The news isn't all bad. With the way McClain wears down as the season goes on, taking off the first four games might be a boon.

Of course.

And the folks that post "He's not worth the headache".

Well only the Cowboy's hierarchy will determine the amount of headache they'll accept and my impression is that they will accept quite a bit.
