Well then we're not talking about the same thing, and I'm wondering why you quoted me?

I was clearly referring to those fans who are of the opinion that he should be immediately cut now that this news has broke.

I guess because I even though I don't feel quite as much outrage, I can't blame them for feeling it.

He's repeatedly let this organization down and continues to act as if he doesn't care about football.

I have no problem if people are done with him.

I'm never gonna understand this guy. You would think, KNOWING that you're in the spotlight, you would have the common sense to not even come within 100 yards of ANYTHING that violates the SAP. What a knucklehead.

He let himself and the team down. I cut bait with him after this season. The only positive I can think of is that he'll still be a good player when he comes off his suspension and hopefully Hardy is as well. But I can't see the FO resigning him now. If he's suspended again it will be a much longer suspension and the whole team suffers from that.

It doesn't matter how good you are if you're not on the field. Injury is one thing. But knowingly putting yourself in that position. Uh uh.

Datone Jones got 1 game. How do you get a 1 game suspension??

Could've have been for just possession or it was already reduced on appeal. Those guidelines were what the League sent out last Sept.

I wonder what he can do besides play football if he ever leaves for good? His money is not going to last long doing what he is doing and hanging around with others that smoke.

According to spotrac, Rolando McClain's 2015 contract is for $3M with $500K guaranteed.

On the bright side, the Cowboys get $750K back (1/4) if he makes the team. Does the money come back in 2015 or 2016? Maybe the guaranteed money is contingent on him not failing a drug test.

If one or two of the LBs step up and the team stays pretty much injury free at LB, I would put money on Rolando McClain not making the team. I don't know, maybe it is just worth it to cut him and save $2.5M on the cap. He just had his knee scoped and can't practice now, might be ready for camp, might not. I would be tempted to let him go now. Why take the chance of him getting hurt in camp and owing him $3M minus $750K ($2.25M total)?

Because he is literally playing for peanuts and he performs at a high level when he is on the field. This is the same reasoning for not cutting injured quality players. The knee jerk reaction is strong in this thread.

Why everyone is surprised and outraged is what I find so fascinating. There is a reason why he came so cheap people.

I don't think this is new, I remember hearing about him possibly getting suspended,,, the Cowboys knew he might get suspended when they inked him to a new contract,,,

$3M isn't peanuts. To me, it isn't. Granted he will lose $750K. So, he is playing 12 games for $2.25M. He just had his knee scoped and worked out at home in AL instead of with the trainers in Dallas. Will he even be able practice at all during camp? He doesn't like to practice from numerous reports. You can't rely on him at all. I can see him milking this knee thing all through camp. He has had numerous concussions last year along with some other injuries and wore down at the end. Does he even want to play the game anymore? I am still a little worried about his house burning down from arson. And top it all off with someone who can't say no to weed. He is staring at a 10 game suspension next failed test.

He'll go into dealing. Take over Nate Newton and Sam Hurd's old sales territory.

If it's for weed, this is getting ridiculous around sports. It will be legal within the next 5 years. Let these guys live their lives, good grief. Might as well start suspending people for beer.
