I'd keep him, but I don't think it will be that difficult to sign him anymore. Three year deal for maybe $1.2M per year. Lack of a proper offseason probably did him in and he ran out of gas late in the year.

Really hard to say what our LB corps will look like next year.

He's going to have to sign a very small deal to stay.

He simply couldn't stay healthy at the end of the year and wasn't reliable like he was in the first half of the season.

With Durant and Lee also coming off injuries you can't continue to keep signing LBers who can't stay on the field.

I do think that Bruce Carter, however, earned himself a spot to stay here with his play late in the season.

I think he's a guy you sign, but I think he got cheaper. The emergence of Hitchens, too, gives us options it didn't look like we had earlier in the year.
And I personally still think our best two LBs were out for the year after Durant and Lee went out.

Fully agree with this.

The last part of the season pretty much erased the possibility of a "Sean Lee" type contract.

I could see another 1 year deal or maybe something like 3 years at $10 mil, with a couple mil guaranteed.

I thought he was very good in the 2nd half of the season. But, he missed the Skins game and then was out of the Lions and Packers game. IF they tell me he had concussion like symptoms, I believe him and I don't want him out there playing.

That being said, I would rely on him more than Sean Lee.

If this was back-to-back concussions for a middle linebacker, I'd be pretty concerned about his long-term future.

I want him back, because when healthy he's arguably our best defensive player.. but not on a big contract. Too risky. It will be interesting to see how we handle this. I think we bring him back though.

Blaming a guy for getting hit in the head and sustaining concussion 2 weeks in a row after being out of football for 2 years. But Sean Lee is at camp all day every day and breaks like gas if you blow on him but most people in here thinks he is "The Answer". Curious.

I'd bring him back but there is no way the deal can be for big money given his injury issues this year. This is doubly the case since we will be bringing back Lee who is still owed a ton of guaranteed money ($10M).

I think something like 2 years and $5M makes sense.

I think you're going to see something like that.

Between Ro and Lee we might, just might, get 16 games out of a MLB.....Give McClain a couple Mil$ guaranteed and bring him back with incentives. Sorta like a Melton deal but not as much.

Before this concussion biz, I thought we should try to bring him back......but I don't believe we can continue keeping players who cannot stay healthy. He has become one of those. I like how he plays when healthy, but not like this when you can't depend on him. As for giving him the league minumum, or incentive laden contract------not even that since he still takes up a valuable roster spot. So no dice on Ro.

I would say the same about Sean Lee, but I think we are in different contract issues with him.

Out again after a few plays today.

He wasn't the same guy in the 2nd half of the season.

Is this a guy the Cowboys can rely on next year? It's a big offseason decision.

Mods -- please fix my title and change Roland to Rolando. Thanks!

He ain't no Sean Lee and that's for certain.

I would like to see his injury history his first couple of years, not his first year back after taking a year off, before I call him brittle and unreliable. Dude probably just needs a full offseason. When he was 100%, this was a much more formidable front 7.

Hitchens is better anyway. League minimum or bye.

I'd sign him to a cheap deal. If he wants more he can go. Hitchens is the man. I love eating crow.

I'm at the point now where i'd bring him back for the cheap but if not, i'd let him walk. And as of now....Justin Durant and Bruce Carter are higher priorities IMO.

He can hit the road along with our butterfingers RB.
