It means guys who are serous and dedicated will be there because they know it means something, those who only show when they have to are guys who are skating by, winning and losing means little as long as they get their paycheck.

I always thought there was 2 things in this world you could count on Death and Taxes but there seems to be a 3rd one and that is McClain is not going to show up for workouts. lol

It amazes me that some of these posters dont understand the simple concept of showing up to practice.

His on-field performance has everything to do with his continued relationship with this team. You don't get that so you get your panties in a wad as you are doing right now.

To you it does. I could care less about his on field performance. I would being saying the same thing if Dez or Romo didnt show up.

If you dont understand the concept of showing up to practice then there is nothing left to discuss.

It amazes me that so many people are incapable of accepting that humans might have differing opinions on the same topic.

You believe he should be at every practice, mandatory or not. Others believe he has the right to skip optional practices if he wants.

Personally, I think that if you get in bed with a scorpion, you shouldn't be surprised when it stings you. People are mad at Rolando for being Rolando. You should be mad at the Cowboys for signing Rolando, knowing full well who he is.

I disagree. Every player is treated different.

That is fine I think giving slack to a player with McClain history is frankly stupid. I could understand cutting slack to a top player who normally does attend these workouts because of some issue that he must take care of but when it is the same player all the time, every year and then on top of that a player who is coming off a season where he has failed a drug test costing his team 4 games? Well excuse me for calling him out as the lazy stupid player he has proven himself to be

I don't even expect every but 1 would be nice. I am mad at any player who is as irresponsible as he has shown, I am glad Cowboys drafted a player who they feel can be a replacement for McClain in the middle.

I believe that you dont build a championship team by preaching about RKG's. I believe that you dont change the culture by pretending to change the culture or talking about it. I believe that you dont win championships with players like McClain.

I also wouldnt have cut the legs out from under my head coach like Jerry did when he publicly advertised that McClain is getting special treatment.

Other than that, I dont have a big issue. The team will be better with McClain playing MLB until we find a suitable replacement. Its not like were winning the SB any time soon at this rate anyway.

You keep babbling that he has been given "slack" but I don't see any evidence of this. He hasn't been promised a position, or even a spot on the team... nothing outside of the guaranteed portion of his contract. It's not like anyone is currently showering him with praise. I don't see any "slack".

Of course you didnt answer it. Because answering it would make you look foolish.

It wasn't addressed to me. I don't even know what the question was. But if you want me to answer it, then asking it to me.

Blah blah blah, same old disjointed argument.

Sure...........

If the OTA's are "not madatory" then why did everyone else but McClain and Leary show up?

It will happen next year. I won't count on it happening during the season this year, but it would be a bonus. If Smith is able to go this year. He still won't replace McClain as the starter this year, IMO. But he will get some snaps in, and learn, as it will be his TC in a sense.
Ro on 1 year deal as usual. So I am rooting for him to play like he has shown he can play. As you know, I am not concerned with missing those OTA's. That time has gone by now. So now, I just want him to show up to TC in shape and give us a good solid year.

It is the same word being used by those defending McClain. I'm sorry I don't care for lazy players, voluntary camp or mandatory camp coaches expect players to be there. Of course there will be times a player can't attend because of personal matters, that's fine but when it is the same person time after time it is a bit much especially when they do show up and are out of shape. it shows they are spending no time working out as they should. For some here it means nothing that is fine for others it matters seeing players taking their job seriously because as so many player will say winning starts in the off season it is not something you just show up and do

and if he is out on the field I expect him to perform as I would any player on the team however that does not mean fans should not call players out. This is not the same winning franchise it has been in past years it is a team that is constantly up and down. Seeing players not giving a damn is very aggravating to many of us to those who it does not make a difference that is your view.

That's a question for the ones that showed up to answer. Not everyone is motivated by the same thing. What we can be sure of is, it is not a question of "if" the OTAs are voluntary. The FO has made no beans about it, OTAa are not mandatory.

We have not fallen to any level close to the Browns.

We sure as hell are not close to the level of championship caliber teams either. I'm just tired of all the excuses and of players in which winning is not very high on their priority.
