Romo almost never throws the ball away

the ball away. His reads and view of the field is just amazing. This is also a statement about just how good our receiving team is.

He is not a rookie but he is playing better than some 10 year vets. I cannot remember any QB coming into the league and lighting it up like this except maybe Marino.

This team is going to ride a wave now with home games that will run into the playoffs. The are cutting down penalties and gaining confidence each game. I am having so much fun as a cowboy fan right now.

Ben Roethlisberger compares nothing to what Romo is doing right now. Ben was just the bus driver, Romo he is winning games for us and dominating

Last Year? Ben isn't even in the same universe as Romo.

The most amazing play today...okay there were two...

1) 3rd and goal, Romo rolls out to the right, Option #1 got jammed hard at the LoS and never got away, Option #2 also got hit and was well covered, Romo buys another second or two and lets Barber (whom I believe was probably option #3) come free and lofts an easy one to him for the TD. Most QBs would've given up on the play and either tried to scramble for it or thrown it away.

2) Romo rolls out to the right after he feels some passrush from the left side, on a dead run he throws a PERFECT strike to a fairly-well covered Terry Glenn placing the ball EXACTLY where it had to be for TG to catch it in stride and turn upfield. Ball went just over one defender but just short of another, right into TGs hands down the sideline.

Honorable mention: This one was subtle but beautiful IMO...2nd or 3rd and goal, Romo rolls left, looks over the middle to freeze the safety and/or LB, lets MBIII come wide open and lofts an easy one to him for the TD. Romo's look off made that play look so easy. I thought it was beautiful.

This is an excellent post. It covers alot in just a few sentences.

You are right he reads the field executes very well. And yes it is also a tribute to his receivers. One benefits from the other. VERY complimentary.
These receviers are playing harder than ever because they know that the guy under center CAN deliver. The O-line is playing better because of the same reason.

Agreed on the fun part... much, much FUN!

Uhh, what about Kurt Warner or Tom Brady?

Yes, they came on strong but did they lead the league in passer rating by ten points. Maybe Warner but I don't think that Brady did.

Amen Brother. You wanna talk about peaking at the right time. If they continue, it's absolute perfection with the way the schedule plays out.

Almost never? He didn't AT ALL in the past two games.

I did not realize that. That is amazing because he is not just a bus driver that is throwing short outs but he is a leader in yards per pass.

"Brady didn't have as good of stats as Romo has his first year starting"

I think what's more interesting than comparing the emergence of Romo to that of other QB's (like Brady, Marino, Warner, et al) is looking at the similarities of this young team with other recently successful organizations, in particular the Patriots. Parcells and Ireland are laying the same kind of foundation that netted New England three Super Bowl's in a four year span. It's been a LONG time since I've felt so comfortable with all three phases of our game (Except Vandershank, of course. But even there I have this Pollyanna-ish feeling that he'll come back around.) The roster across the board is stocked with young, talented players that are mostly locked-up for the forseeable future. Even if the chips don't fall perfectly this year, I believe there is a good chance we are seeing the beginnings of something REALLY special again in Big D!
