Romo has the highest average gain (yards per pass attempt) of anyone in the history of the NFL after his first 14 starts, considering his number of attempts. Higher even, than the standard by which career starts for a QB are measured--Kurt Warner.

minimum 20 attempts per game
1. Romo.............8.91 ypa (431 att)....100.9 rating
2. Roethlisberger 8.88 ypa (295 att)......98.1 rating
3. Warner..........8.83 ypa (440 att).....111.4 rating

Romo also has the 3rd most yards of anyone ever after 14 starts.
1. Bulger 3,905
2. Warner 3,884
3. Romo 3,840

He needs 520 yards in his next two starts to pass Warner for the best (yardage-wise) 16-game start to his career. Of course, Warner did it all in the same season.

Romo also has 5 straight games of 2+ TD passes, which must be close to a team record. And I can't imagine that any Cowboy QB has thrown for this many yards in any 14-game stretch, let alone the first 14 starts of his career.

We could be witnessing history ....... again.

People (Trolls mostly) like to call me a homer and tell me I am blind to what is wrong with our team.

But I was lucky enough to see the "triplets" be "born" and dominate the league ....

and now it looks like I am about to see another Star in Dallas dominate the league.

And I am only 35 years old .....how many other teams fans can say that?

Damn I love the Cowboys.

Warner was part of the Greatest Show on Turf and we are missing Terry Glenn. :)

The offense we have right now may be better than The Triplets. And I love the triplets. Emmitt Smith is my favorite player ever. Michael was always so fun. Aikman was a steady QB. But the explosiveness of this offense right now. They have to do this over a long period to really be better than The Triplets. But it's headed that way.

Yep. And Warner was competing in NFLE and the arena league before he got the call, while Romo was just standing on the sidelines.

Damn I love the Cowboys.

I haven't been this giddy since 1992. I feel like a school girl with a crush. I can't get enough of these Dallas Cowboys. For the first time since Aikman, I actually feel like we can get every third down conversion and always have a shot at winning the game no matter what the score. It reminds me of the days of Roger Staubach. Romo just has a "magic moxie" about him that wills him and the team to find a way to win. Sort of like the way the team played in the 1994 championship game after going down by 21 points to start the game.

Here's to many more games and years like this to come . . . :beer1:

Screw the glass of Koolaid - I'm gulping the whole pitcher at this point.

Don't go overboard. Our offense isn't exactly lighting up opposing defenses in the first half. That, my friend has to change. They cannot expect the defense to always hold off opposing offenses until the offense decides they want to score or even move the ball at all. When New England comes to town, I doubt they are going to wait until it's to late the score. If the Cowboys don't ring up some points in the first half, I'm willing to bet the Cowboys lose that game.

Did you guys see the girl in the stands holding up the sign that said "Marry me Tony Romo?"

She's in the longest line in America right now. He's the living embodiement of those body spray commercials where the women want to ravage the guy.

The kid is amazing. Pay him Jerry. We will love you.

That's true, and it'll be tough to score on New England for any offense in the NFL. They may be one of the better teams ever the way they are playing right now. But I really like what I see from this offense.

If the offense is putting up 35 a game, I'm fine with them doing all of it in the second half. As long as they're not keeping our defense on the field the whole time. What difference does it make? This team could come back from 14 or 21 down, if it had to.

The bigger question is whether or not the defense can hold a good team down. I feel a lot better about that prospect with Newman back in the lineup.
