The only 5-game start that beats Romo's is Kurt Warner's.

That I've been able to find, anyway.

LOL... Unless we win a superbowl, all these comparisons are meaningless.. I knwo it gives hope, but seriously.. Brady has 3 super bowls... Although the way it is looking, Romo has the potential to put up huge numbers consistently...

The general impression of Warner is that he burned out early, but really he may have just started late. Warner was two years older than Romo is, and in football years, even older than that, with two years in the Arena League and another year in NFL Europe. Warner's success in the NFL was a continuation of what he had been doing at a lower level. If Warner had started his NFL career 3 years earlier, then he would have gradually built up to his best years (99-01) instead of taking the league by storm.

Warner's sudden success made it seem like he'd made a deal with the devil or something, but it was all very real. He was just a good QB in the perfect situation at the perfect time. Although it seemed like his skills had suddenly vanished, it was probably just a case of his late start and the wear and tear catching up with him. Warner went to his last Pro Bowl just 5 months younger than Aikman was when he went to his.

OTOH, Romo is doing this after 3 years out of competitive play, and with just about all his tread still left on the tires.

Regardless of comparisions Tony Romo is just Tony Romo no sense in drawing the conclusion that he might end up like Warner because simply because he is not Kurt Warner. Tony Romo while statistically might be comparable to Kurt if you watched Kurt during those years he was the one who made the underthrown pass commonplace and who benefitted from his recievers making him look world beater.

Kurt Warner would often just throw it up into coverage knowing his recievers were going to make plays. Tony on the other had is visually dissecting the defense and hitting the players that he needs too. So statistically they are the same but in reality Tony is using his Brain as much as he is using his arm while Kurt was a gun slinger relying heavily on his recievers to help him out.

So relax and realize Romo is a solid QB that is getting it done by taking what the defense gives him and using his intellegence to find the weaknesses and his arm to exploit it. He is the "REAL DEAL" and not a flash.

Brady closed out that season with 5 straight wins. If ROmo does that, the annonting oil is coming out regardless of what Parcells tries to do.

I thought it would interesting to look at the two QB's first five games started. Sorry if this has been discussed, but looks as if Romo outperformed Brady based on pure stats.

Brady:

Romo:

Don't forget this stat:

Super Bowl wins

Brady-3
Romo-0

The point is we are all excited about Romo's success but let's not get ahead of ourselves...mentioning Romo with Brady, Manning or any other great PROVEN quarterback is very premature.

Brady's first Super Bowl was benefited by a bad rule and a HOF kicker that carried that team more than anyone!!!

and we all know the other SBs were almost as bogus!!!
