As this training camp continues, I think I understand why the Cowboys didn't draft any WR's and only picked up Williams. Romo has been in the league 7 years. His first few years he was the second/third string QB. Crayton has been on the team six years, Hurd has been on the team 4 years and Austin has been on the team four years. Romo has been throwing to these guys on a regular basis for a few years now. They were all second/third team WR's. They have all kind of grown up together as players. I think their timing will be VERY good. I'm not even gonna include Witten in this. I think our WR's may have a breakout year. What do you guys and gals think?

did you watch the season last year?

Romo struggled getting the ball to Owens and Crayton, lets not talk about hurd and austin..

Much of that was from poor line play as well. Don't get me wrong he did struggle but I just think this is a new fresh start for all of them. Or at least I hope it is.:crossed:

We should round up Romo's high school receivers. He should have great timing w/ them.

Actually he hasn't been throwing to high school receivers for the last 3 years. I agree with the OP that there should be a rapport between Romo and guys like Crayton, Hurd and Austin at this point. Does that mean they'll tear up the league necessarily? No, but the continuity can't hurt. It's not unheard of for a WR to blossom in his third or fourth year.

I think everyone should prepare to be wowed. :)

Almost our entire offense last year was designed to go to one person. Tony was locked into that mindset, our OC was locked into that mindset, it's what everything was about.

Regardless of talent, I believe that shackle was holding the offense back. I don't think the receivers will have outstanding breakout years - but I think we will have a well rounded offense, and Romo will put up some very efficient numbers, playing the game that he is comfortable with.
