Second, I'm interested in a comparison of yearly progression. Despite some on this board how think we shouldn't analyze stats, I would be interested in knowing in Big Ben's first year, how many multiple interception games he had, in his second year, in his third year.
The same would be for Eli and for Romo.

I think there's a big difference in comparing Eli's first year with Romo's second year or even Romo's second year with Ben's third year. Those facts make a difference between many elements go into a quarterback's turnover rate including years of experience.

I would expect a rookie quarterback to have more multiple pick games than I would a veteran of three years.

Since Romo took over as our starter, he's had nine multiple-pick games. Eli and Roethlisberger have had 13 apiece in the same timeframe.

Keep in mind that Romo was a former undrafted rookie (in 2003) who had never started (and had barely even played) before then, while Eli was a former No. 1 overall draft pick (2004) who had started 30 games before then, and Roethlisberger was a former 11th overall pick (2004) who had started 36 games before then.

But I'm sure that extra season Romo had in 2003 as a third-stringer far outweighs the 30-plus games of starting experience those guys had before Romo became our starter.

Thanks, Adam. I always appreciate your research and work. But I think you hit the nail on the head. Romo isn't where he should be compared to the other quarterbacks. He's still a work in progress.

Big Ben is the best QB in the NFL. I dont know why anyone would say Romo is better. Eli and Romo is a toss up at this point.

When the Steelers win the Super Bowl this year on either a Ben last minute drive or a high scoring game, you can give his defense all the props if you want to. I know what I see. They would be 2-0 if his kicker could hit a chip shot.

Wonder if some of those "I'd rather have Romo over Brees" crowd have changed their mind?

How in the world do you come to that conclusion? Despite being high first-round picks and having more experience, they both have more multiple-interception games during the same period of time. Roethlisberger already has one this season, just like Romo. I'm sure Manning will have a few this season, too, given that he's done it twice in his past six games.

Roethlisberger has a higher career INT rate than Romo. You would hate Big Ben if he was on this team even more than Romo.

He would have exactly as many playoff wins on this team as Romo does without the dominating defense, consistent O Line and good coaching he gets in Pitt.

Brees has plenty of bad games, too. Last season alone, he lost six games when he had a passer rating of less than 70. Romo has only eight of those losses in his entire career.

The only stat that matters is Dallas' 10-9 record in Romo's last 19 starts, including the playoffs. We are an average football team with Romo at quarterback.

We are also 10-9 in the last 19 starts with Ware at OLB, too.

I think you are on to something here.

I'm glad there are a few people who are the voices of reason in here.

his defenses haven't given up 400+ yards and 21+ points in the 1st 2 games this year. If Harrison doesn't run back a int 99 yards in the superbowl Ben doesn't even have a chance at a last minute drive. he keeps getting those chances cause he has a defense. Romo has never had a defense here in allas

Selective time frames are always fun! (Nice job starting with the end of a seven-game winning streak.) Let me try it. Drew Brees is 10-9 in his past 19 starts. Kurt Warner is 9-7 in his past 16 starts. Eli Manning is 3-4 in his past seven starts. Tom Brady is 2-2 in his past four starts. Philip Rivers is 10-11 in his past 21 starts. Aaron Rodgers is 5-11 in his past 16 starts. Donovan McNabb is 25-21-1 in his past 47 starts.

Ben is 4 times the leader Romo is. If you can't see that then thats your problem.

Manning is 14-5 in his last 19 starts.

Warner is 11-8 over his last 19 starts, including three playoff wins.

Brees is, in fact, 10-9 over his last 19 starts.

Rivers is 10-9 in his last 19, including one playoff win.

Brady is 17-2 over his last 19, including two playoff wins.

Rodgers is 7-11 in 18 career starts.

Like I said, using selective time frames is fun. (Still, only two of them have Romo beaten by more than one win.)

Next shall we try, say, their past 26 starts?

i'm extremely disappointed in romo. he is a better than average qb but he has some mental issues. he chokes, pretty clearly. i'm not sure how long we can wait for him to get past those issues but he's running out of time.
