For selfish reasons, I wanted to see Tony give it one more shot but this is probably what is best for him and his family :(

If this is indeed scheduled, then it is a done deal.

Man... I am a little bummed. I really felt that last year he was going to make at least two more runs.

2016 - injury. Dak in. So it never happened
2017 - retired.

I WANTED this guy to get at least one super bowl.

Retirement was always his best play; I'm glad he had the time it took to come to the best decision rather than stubbornly hanging onto yesterday.

He knows best but I can't agree.
He has always expressed desire to play.
He is probably able to play physically at a high level. Just doesn't want to take a chance. Understood.

But.... retirement being his best play... same could be said about Peyton Manning. He hung around, hung around.... Elway told him come back one more year and we'll get you that 2nd ring.

I still believe that was his best play!
Still could be!

What is also great about the way this has worked out is - it sticks it to both the Texans and the Bronco's !
Neither team was willing to step up, but tried to play it cute by waiting out Romo and the Cowboys, now both teams will be scrambling to find and justify a starting QB. Oh they will spin it, but both of those fan bases should be pissed at their FO.
I love it !
All this means is that NE gets another bye to the super bowl.

I'm wondering if CBS will prevail upon Tony to shave that black stubble from his face. It's not really his best look as a broadcaster, imo.

tony was set to make at least 8 mil a year as a QB, and now he says this deal was too good to pass up?
They must have made a very sweet offer, like 10 mil a year, and 5 years guaranteed.
It is also the # 1 spot beside nance, doing the big games and SB.

If he turned it down to play 1 or 2 more years, that offer would not still be there later.
I think it was a smart move, for tony.
I wanted to see him play for texans , but if it had turned out badly then that would be no fun for me or tony.

Serves houston right for not going all out to get tony, now they have nothing.
Aikman makes about a million a year.
