I dont do that the of comparison I simply think Romo was a better QB as far as pocket presence and awareness and just looked more natural..Yeah, Romo is better than Dak. I will grant you that.
Here is the main issue with people who are hell bent on comparing the two...why the double standard of expectations between the 2 QBs? There is an excuse for Romo for every season’s failure that doesn’t involve Romo, while the finger gets pointed at Dak because he isn’t as good as Romo?
An example, Dak’s defense can give up 34 points in a playoff game and it’s Dak’s fault they lose. After all, Dak threw an interception. No mention of Witten blowing a block leading to a sack, TWill dropping a wide open pass, Butler had a stupid penalty and dropped a TD pass, the refs didn’t call pass interference against Witten at the end of the first half, interception called back due to a ticky-tack penalty, defense getting absolutely shredded early in the game and then twice giving up the lead late in the 4th after Dallas tied the game?
None of that that seems to matter, Romo is better than Dak so Dak is to blame for loss because he made one mistake.
Why doesn’t Dak get the same courtesy extended to him that Romo got even though he isn’t as good?
Now I for one havent blamed Dak for any of the playoff losses, he and zeke has played pretty well in all the playoff games.. Defense ultimately has been our downfall plus individuals making mistakes for sure..its no different then Murray fumbling, bailey missing two FGs, and the Dez no catch..the DC have been jinxed many times in these big games..
we should feel a bit snakebite like NO has recently, always something unusual or crazy happens at the worst possible moments..LA Rams get gifted a SB when they didnt deserve it and left NO licking their wounds wondering not agin..
whatever it has been in the playoffs daks not been bad in those moments..
However I lost most of the faith I had in Dak I the way he played down the stretch in 5 of the 6 last games.. I dont care the reason but he regressed and looked BAD..real BAD imo its why I am down on him right now..he withered in the big moments , I realize players cant step up every big moment but we only needed IONE game maybe two for Dak to prove he can lift a team from a loss and turn it into a win..its what I have seen from mahomes 3 times this playoff run , ive seen it from Rogers and others like RW..noones perfect but Dak to me juts fell on his face the last 5 weeks of the season.. he had opotrtunitys..
its less about ability and more about decision making on where to go with the ball presnap, when to ignore playcalls and FEEL the game and juts call a play or go rouge every now and then to flat out win a game like the end of the MN game.. IMO we can blame the play calling but really an RPO leave the decsions in the QBs hand he can run, he can hand off or he can throw, DAk made the wrong decsions in those 2 plays and the throw to zeke on the short tight side of the feel at the sideline with no room for error because it was his first primary but never looked to the middle and right for a better option..
that drives me crazy all the bad playcall and coaching narratives when Dak is the field general , the leader, and had the ball and made the wrong decisions..he did this a lot in those games in NE, BUFF, CHI, PHIlly , he just seem when under the most pressure made the wrong choices..that concerns me , not his throwing motion or accuracy or deep ball touch..its the pocket awareness and where to throw the ball, when to change the play, when to wink at a WR to just go off script and burn a defense.. I feel Daks a coach robot and most of the time just does exactly as the play was drawn up and doesnt recognize when to change it, he typically has his mind made up to go to his first primary read and forces it there..
