I was at the game. We were down by 5.. only 5.. the the decision of the year to put Romo in is made. I wanted to vomit. All the "Romo" chants around me from all the "experts" in the stadium made me sick. But you know what the clencher for me was? What really made me want to puke? After all the chants had died down, and Romo is in the game, trying desperately to save face after falling into his own hype, the majority of the Romo supporters were nowhere to be found. That's right, after all the chanting and all the hope had gone, and even though their star undrafted quarterback was finally in the game, scrambling, passing, making his moves, the Romo Fans had already had enough. They left the game because that was all they wanted to see.... I guess I couldn't say it any better than to just say what I saw. Romo Fans: You got what you wanted, and once you did, you didn't even want it anymore. What a pack of worthless, mindless idiots.

And where was I? The guy who wanted to see Bledsoe finish out the game while we had the momentum going into the second half? Well I was still watching from the stands. Even though we were down and had 0 chance of a comeback in the final minutes, I was there to watch my team, cause that's what real fans do.

And yes, I am here at work early this morning trying to down enough coffee to wake up from 3 hours of sleep so I had every reason to leave early last night as much as anyone.

I hated to see Bledsoe get benched in a game that was only 12-7 going into half. However I have nothing aginst Romo and if Dallas chooses to go with him the remainder of the season I'll support Romo just as much as I did Bledsoe.

sorry - i was elated when romo hit the field and i didn't miss a minute - to the very end. it was like xmas to me and in a sense, a beginning. i was excited about this team for the 1st time in quite some time.

if i felt that elation at romo, i can only imagine how happy i'll be when i hear bill utter the words i so long to hear - "i'm retiring now".

only then will this "experiment" be over and we can move on with our eventual growth again.

As will I. If Bill goes with Romo this week (which I think is very likely, unfortunately), I will go with it. Let's do this. Personally I think the decision was horrible to pull Bledsoe, but it's done, and I think to go back to Bledsoe now will just kill the energy of this team. I know they are all professionals, but you can't swap in a QB like you can a RB. Quarterback-by-committee anyone?

So, if we go with Romo, then I hope he can improve. Honestly, I don't think he will. I think he is too short and I don't think he has the best head on his shoulders when it comes to running an NFL offense. Some people are giving him way to much credit, calling him a "rookie", but like BP said last night -- he is a 4th year qb whether he has played in a game or not. He should have been better last night and he made some inexcusable decisions. Obviouusly we know Bledsoe makes some of those too, but I haven't seen so many bad passes and bad decisions in one half of NFL football in my life, i.e. throwing into tripple coverage mutliple times, throwing behind receivers repeatedly, forgetting what color jersey we are wearing that day, etc..

It seemed that Drew and the offense were starting to get on a roll at the end of the 2nd quarter (except for that awful pick thrown to kill the scoring drive). As you put it, they were down only by 5 and were coming into the 2nd half with the ball and IMO, momentum on offense. Clearly, Bledsoe gave us the best chance to win coming into the second half but Parcells turned his back on Drew. I don't know why Parcells gave into the pressue of playing Romo.... Was it the media? Was it the fans? Was it Jerry Jones?

Ultimately, it was a horrible decision and something that he will regret and possibly having implications later down the road. I think if the Cowboys decide to stick with Romo this year, it will be a 'rebuilding' year... something that Parcells and some of the older guys on the team cannot afford the luxury of. Just look what happened to the Bills. They were 9-7 in 2004, poised to make a run at the playoffs 2005 but their management/coaching staff decided to turn their backs on a solid veteran QB to go with a younger, mobile but more inexperienced, erratic QB. They've been stinking it up ever since.

I'd like to know how or why it was a "horrible" decision to pull Bledsoe at the half when he has shown how careless he is with the ball ESPECIALLY near the goalline?

I don't know if you're a real fan or not if you want to be a typical Tuesday Morning QB and say "I told you so"... if you would have preferred to watch this team die a slow death with Bledsoe that's on you. Momentum? Bledsoe sucked all the momentum out of the stadium with yet ANOTHER idiotic int. Something he's known for especially in big games. BLEDSOE IS NOTHING MORE THAN FOOLS GOLD!

On that note, I think it was a bad decision to pass at all when we had 1st and goal on the 4. I know our running game was struggling, but there was 1:47 or so on the clock and our priorities should have been to #1 protect the football and #2 get at least 3 pts before the half and #3 eat up the clock. The best way to do all 3 of those is run the ball 3 times, then bring in Vandy if we don't get in. That would have put us down by 2 at 10-12 at the worst, or up 14-12, with momentum and the ball coming back to us in the 2nd half (not to mention Bledsoe would have started again and I think our chances to win the game would have been much higher).

i don't think people are calling him the "golden child" (nice sarcasm though!) but he is 1 thing many have been longing for - not bledsoe. not another has been never was parcells forced on us.

we know bledsoe is gonna screw up and make mistakes romo should learn not to make in the coming year. at least now we don't know what will happen.

that's enough for me, for now.

Go back and look at how we have been having slow starts this year. We had a very slow start again the 1st quarter on both sides of the ball, but by the 2nd quarter we got things going and put together a nice drive and got a timely defensive stop/turnover. Bledsoe makes a bad play and we are down by only 5. However, we get the ball back and we had shown that the offense was clicking by the drive prior to Tiki's fumble. A score on our first drive of the second half puts us in the lead and in the driver's seat. But instead we put in a nobody qb in the biggest game of the 1st half of the season -- battle for 1st place -- division game against a 2-0 division team. This was the worst time, I repeat WORST TIME to put in a nobody QB.

I seriously had to look over to see if Parcells was still on the sidelines calling the game.. I thought maybe some idiot fan was down there with the headset on telling Romo to go give it his best shot. Unbelievable!

I will say that I'm one of these that wanted Romo...not necessarily as the end-all, but to at least get a look at him.

OF course, I thought the best time to work him in would have been for the Tennessee game. He'd have an extra week to prepare b/c of the bye, he'd be going up against a weaker defense. Could have given him a quarter, if he did ok, then another quarter, if he did ok, the 2nd half. Then go from there.

But to throw him in the 2nd half, MondayNight Football, rabid crowd, Giants defense that had already brought the pressure...

I expected him to struggle when I saw him coming in. Did I expect 3INTs? No (I expected *an* INT though). I didn't think he'd bring them back, but he got his shot either way.

He made mistakes, he'll learn (we hope). Worse case, we end up w/ a guy that throws INTs an inopportune moments....what a difference that'd be from Bledsoe.

Something the ESPN idiots and Irvin pointed out. The offense did seem to have a spark after that. Even after the 3rd INT/returnTD, the team had this look of "oh well, we'll take a mulligan on this one."

2 key plays though:

1)Bledsoe drops back to pass, stands back there forever, gets sacked by Strahan -6yds (2nd qtr 11:45 1st/10). (or the Uminyora sack 2plays later -8yds...one of those 2)

2)Romo immediate pressured by ?Strahan?, rolls out, hits Witten for 5yds (3rd qtr 'bout 10:42 on 1st/10)

I guess we'll just have to see. Short 5 (4 really) day week, then @Carolina. Romo's getting his shot and he's going out of the frying pan and into the oven.

that Bledsoe was even allowed to come to Dallas was stupid imho... BP should have been forced to build the Offense first and the right way...it has been 4 years of wheel spinning....it is just disgusting...

Well, it wasn't like the Cowboys were playing with a lead?

Granted, the first INT was just a great play by Michael Strahan, who had beat his block once again.

But it's 19-7 and then the dropped pass by TO.

Then it's 26-7 and at that point Romo is basically in pass mode.

He has to learn. So did Elway, Aikman, Bradshaw and Manning (Eli and Peyton).

As for pulling Bledsoe, what makes you think Bledsoe would have done better?

The Cowboys weren't running the ball effectively. The Giants were just teeing off and rushing Bledsoe. They basically met him at the spot where they thought he was going to be.

I personally don't think the outcome would have been any different.

After the goal line interception, this team was deflated.

At least we got a spark with Romo.

This idea that he was suppose to come in and rescue the Cowboys ala Clint Longley was unrealistic. He will, like all quarterbacks not named Marino or Roethlisberger (who was protected by a running game), will have to take his lumps.

But I'm glad he's going to get the chance.

This should be about getting better not staying the same.

Bledsoe was not and is not going to get better. Unless we channel the Cowboys offensive line of the 90s, Bledsoe will get hit, get pressured, get sacked and miss open receivers and make critical mistakes in crunch time.

How many more times do we need to see this before we make a change?
(insert definition of INSANITY - doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.)

Now, at least we have hope.

And let's be honest. The Cowboys defense is overrated and definitely inexperienced.

Hopefully, Romo grows fast, gives us better balance on offense, keeps our defense off the field and fresh and moves us on.

But we're moving forward to the future.

The Giants had four sacks, a safety, and a interception in the first half. The OL could not protect Bledsoe from the blitz. Bledsoe and the Cowboys offense had a chance to take a lead and start the usual second half wake-up period, however Parcells as well as most of us watching from home had immediate flashbacks to Philly where Bledsoe just folded.

The team needed a spark. It was a good call to put Romo in. Bledsoe would've been planted in the turf during the second half. The Giants changed their entire blitzing scheme in the second half because of Romo. The offense was clicking but the mistakes by Romo and TO hurt them.

i've been calling this "wasted time" ever since i saw how hard headed bp was when it came to qb's. i didn't feel drew could do it and i've said so. people have asked if he *did* would i eat crow - of course. i'm stubborn but i'm not rediculous.

but that sums up a lot of my anger - this "wasted time". i can only hope at this point parcells stays w/romo cause drew was sure a pouting SOB last night on the sidelines. if we're at least trying for a long term approach and the stop-gap qb's are over, then my postings will get a lot happier and positive as time moves on.

i'm seeing a light at the end of a dark tunnell and i only hope it's not a mirage.

When we start losing out there will be no one that agrees with this. With Romo we have a tough time winning anymore games this year.
