Aikman was considered one of the most accurate passers in NFL playoff history. With tight coverage he had less room for error. People who are comparing the two and are saying Romo wins 3 SBs easily with the 90s teams are clueless. The team was a well oiled machine because Aikman found spaces where there was non, Emmitt was great and Irvin was tough. Romo is great QB but just admitted that it took him this long to grow into his roll. If early Romo was on those 90s teams he would be throwing a lot more picks on tighter coverage where DBs had the upper hand. You just can't mix and match, especially when Romo's playoff sample size is so small and he had trouble in big games in early years.

Troy was very accurate. And we all know they let DBs get away with murder back then.

But many would be shocked at how much less Romo has turned the ball over than Aikman.

Romo has thrown FAR fewer ints in the regular season and in 4th quarters and although the sample size is still small...
Romo has throw less ints in the playoffs as well.

Romo
Reg seasons....242 TDs, 110 Ints...2.2:1 ratio
Playoffs....6 TDs, 2 Ints....3:1 ratio

Aikman
Reg Seasons: 165 TDs, 142 Ints 1.16:1 ratio
Playoffs: 23 TDs, 17 Ints...1.35:1 ratio

This is not belittling Aikman or even saying Romo was a better player. Not at all.
We know the rules favor QBs now.
It's just highlighting just how good Romo really is and how few his ints really are vs what some think
Some people really have no idea

Posted some similar stats in another thread. Troy is a winner, but Tony minus rings, and supporting cast doesn't get the props he deserves. I hope he gets one this year.

Yes. those guys were bad. And don't use the 13 probowlers to defend your stance. Romo made that oline look better than they were.

OK. Have an argument with yourself where you take out the facts. Can you make the case that White was better than Staubach? Kaepernick better than Montana maybe? Unless you are talking baseball you can't compare players' stats from different generations only results.
