The good news is Romo had NO INTERCEPTIONS!
The bad news is that, had a foul not negated one, he'd have one. And the next play he placed another ball in the chest of a defender.

16 points means 4 points per quarter.

And then Murray: 37 yards.

Yes, Mr. Callahan, welcome Mr. Savior. Appointed by Jerra Jones, "football guy" to the rest of us.

These Cowboys, the way they played Sunday, should be No. 30 in the power rankings. There are no more excuses. The only question is, will we reach the magical 8-game winning season to at least make us a mediocre team once again?

The only heroes Sunday was the defense that bent but did not break. 17 points agin us is a good thing. A very good thing. Anytime a team scores 17 we HAVE A CHANCE TO WIN.

But When we score 16 points we HAVE NO CHANCE TO WIN.

Romo, enjoy your riches. Jerra, console Dez and tell him all is forgotten for missing that pass off his chest.
You've already forgiven Dunbar in a past game, forgive him again.
And while you are at it, console Romo who said "You just have to keep getting better" at the press conference. Never heard that one before, Tona.

Harumph!

Oh my goodness.....I guess the "Blame Romo" thread was coming sooner or later..

So Murray's 25 yds and non existent running game has nothing to do with it.
So Bryant's non existent offensive pass interference and dropped 35 yd ball has nothing to do with it.
So Clayborn's non phantom pass interference call has nothing to do with it.
And D's inability to get the ball back for the offense in the last 3 min has nothing to do with it.....

I didn't think Berry deserved a flag on that play and same with Mo on the PI call at the end of the game. Both were ticky tack calls but it is our job not to leave it up to the refs. I feel like we are experiencing the Romocoaster right now. Sometimes he looks great and other times he looks like an over the hill QB. Did you see the one time he ran with the ball? He looked like an old man. Meanwhile Alex Smith was KILLING us with his feet when his coverage broke down. I would honestly take Smith over Romo right now and I never thought I would say that.

We should probably stop where we've got some middle ground, then. I did think Romo looked really bad in the 4th quarter. Alex Smith has his own set of challenges. He's a good running QB, and Reid's using him right, but you're not going to make a living scrambling like he did in the first quarter yesterday.

For our part, we gotta convert for 7 on that opening 3rd quarter drive. The blown protection just can't happen, and your RB can't run right by a Dontari Poe when you've got a WR open in the back of the end zone. And Dez can't drop that pass. That was a good defense playing at home yesterday, and we left 11 points on the field with those two plays, without even getting to the turnovers. Four plays will get you beat in a parity-driven league.

This...
Very simialr to the Detroit game two years ago (and maybe even Washington 2nd half after the cracked ribs) in the the zip was gone and the senses were a bit more clouded due to the pain.
Don't want to make too many excuses though....if he's hurt, he has to better understand his limitiations.

Let's all HOPE that is what the problem was with him. I remember these type of questions coming up early last year too that something looked wrong with Romo and then Romo changed and started playing better.

If you read the post before twisting them you'd read the names Dez, Murray and Callahan. And jerra. You seem skittish over your hero Romo.

Interesting factoid. Romo has a 94.6 QB rating which on the surface sounds pretty good.

Romo's 94.6 QB rating puts him as the 17th ranked QB in the NFL after two weeks -- ie in the bottom half (barely) of the league.

I think (or thought) that a 94.6 QB rating is good. It sure seems like it until you start looking around and looking at the overall level of QB play in possibly at all an all time high -- probably due to pro-offense NFL rules changes.

Food for thought anyway.

And he is worth ever penny of his salary.

Absolutely unbelievable that some people can blame the defense yesterday.

Romo is untouchable to some. It's ********.

Romo is often blamed for too much. Yesterday's loss falls squarely on 9

I thought Frederick is the one who whiffed both times on Poe when I watched the game the first time. And yes, I mentioned Dez dropping that pass already. The guy is allowed to make one bad play a game.. g whiz he had 141 yards receiving against a stud CB. Dez was awesome out there. And yes, the Dunbar fumble hurt us too. Nobody is just blaming Romo here.. but we all know he played a role in our loss too.

and once again you are wrong. Play calling; the O line unable to get anything going as regards a running game; and stupid mistakes and penalties.
Those all have equal blame but as usual you blame Romo. Boring.

It's sickening man.

They ran T.O., Flozell, Gurode, Crayton, Choice, Bennett, and Ogletree out of Dallas in the name of protecting the chosen one.

Now he is surrounded by "RKGs" and they have no one left to blame so they're going to turn on Dez and the defense.

Pretty sure the first whiff was on Frederick, and the second looked like a blown protection. Either way, it got Tony killed in the red zone when he had Dez open.

Dez was a beast yesterday. He's always a beast. But that ball hit him in the hands with nothing but space in front of him. No excuse for not making that play, too.

Harumph!

My ever-stout friend, you call a spade a spade.
Some of those words may be emotions (the "harumph" especially) talking, but no official statements that came from your desk were incorrect.

As for my thoughts on the whole Romo hate/defend thing that goes on around here.
Call it like it is- He's good, he can even be great, (heck, I myself am a big fan of the guy and keep wishing he be CONSISTENTLY great) but he cannot carry a team.
And unfortunately- he's not a bus driver either. That's square-pegging a round hole.

Even if they get to the playoffs- I'll be scared to death of Good Romo/Bad Romo 'cause it's one-and-done, not best out of...

I'm a Romo fan, but he was awful in the second-half, just awful. And tht screen play, when he had Dez one-on-one on a 3rd down, was the dumbest play I've ever witnessed, especialy considering playing the odds. You needed a score anyways and you try that monstrosity. Whoever was the reason for that, needs to be slapped.

First one Frederick at least put one arm on him.. the second one he just came right through and Frederic didn't touch him. Those plays were more on Frederick having brain farts than Poe being a beast. Just as Dez dropped that one ball.. he also made an amazing diving catch on the ball that was thrown a few yards too far. Dez is easily forgivable after his performance out there.. others, not so much.

There will always be the coaches too blame too, and then finally Jerry Jones for not getting better coaches and wasting romos career

I confess that I didn't read the entire post carefully. But looking at your title and ending it's easy to think you are blaming the QB more than anyone else.
Romo didn't play great yesterday but neither did the entire offense.

Of all these players you named above, exactly what have they accomplished since leaving Dallas? Any pro bowls? Honesly, I wish we kept Bennett somehow. He is so much better fitted for the 2 TE offense we want to run but he is also a headcase. Even the Gmen won't keep him.
